ITS FOR A CHURCH HONEY!
Didn’t watch it, but the headlines, posts and memes are prime choice so far!
But one thing I haven’t seen mentiones yet is something I only stumbled upon when a browser was showing headline snippets. Harris outright said that both she and Walz are gun owners, they’re not “taking anyone’s guns” and outright told that orange turd to stop with his blatant lies. As a blue gun owner…then fills me with joy.

Listen to Jesus Jimmy, do I need to test your urine!
The Refer Madness Musical. It’s hilarious. Kristen Bell, Brian Weber, Ana Gastyer, the dude from Tales from the Crypt, and Neve Campbell.
It’s not so much technobabble, but from mid-TNG on through DS9 and VOY it seemed that, at least once per episode, “Some kind of…” was used to describe anything new.
What blew my mind about that whole intro is they hid the entire ship UNDERWATER AT THE SHORELINE with a severe risk of damage to the local terrain and sea life instead of, you know, being in orbit.
Let’s see.

And when the expenses for his commute get too high, they just lay off a shitton of employees so the quarterly bottom line looks good.
I’ve actually been considering getting a mini-pc. My old setup at home used to be my main PC hooked up to my TVs in the living room with a wireless keyboard. Id do some low end gaming on it and mostly streaming. Im in process of selling that house and looking to go back into a more traditional setup, with my main PC In a den with actual monitors, but still want to consider the option of having a mini PC in the living room TV for the occasional PC needs, and running lower end party games from steam like Jack Box.
I bought a couple a few years ago, the only one I still use is the PiHole, which has been phenomenal. I did try to use one as a media server but turned out to be more of a pain than it was worth.
I have a pair of bluetooth sportbuds i connect to my work laptop for when i go in the office, and to my phone when i go for a jog. When I’m in the garage putting my running shoes on and put the earbuds in they never connect to my phone which is in my pocket. They instead connect to the work laptop…in the upstairs den…on the exact opposite side of the house. Every. Goddamn. Time.
They’re just serial complainers. Even if you walk around their department with a laptop to give them 5 minute instruction, no matter when you do it it’s always inconvenient to them. Some people exist solely to complain about shit
Send multiple all user emails stating which end to put in the water. People still call the Help Desk or email you directly, your response is forwarding them the email, they complained that it’s not convenient or they get too many emails or don’t have time for emails.
You send documentation and place it on the portal. they complain it’s overly complicated, so you add screenshots with which end to put in the water. They still mess it up and complain about lack of instruction.
You schedule 30 minute courses, 3 times a day, every day of the week and spam out notifications to sign up. You get a total of 12 people the first 2 weeks, most of which figured it out on their own at some point but thought it was mandatory, or that there were high level secrets or Tips n Tricks you were gonna teach. When the education period ends, you still get people complaining that the times weren’t convenient enough for them because they work 2nd shift or weekends.
You schedule another 2 weeks of classes, after hours and on weekends. 2 people show up, but not the ones who removeded about it.
Despite everything, your boss still sings you on your review didn’t meet the needs of the organization with this rollout
Half the staff are wearing wool beanies in dead ass middle of summer
Sides are a la carte, fries come in a metal cup with newspaper-style wax/parchment paper
The bottom bun is falls-apart-soggy by halfway through
Claims to have a huge selection of craft beers…all IPAs, a stout, a sour, and PBR
I do HL7 interfaces between healthcare systems. Almost weekly the same people contact me saying “the interfaces are down”.
Me: “Things are up, and messages are flowing”
Them: “But we’re not seeing updates in the other system”
Me: “Did you reach out to their support?”
Them: “They’d just tell us to check out side first”
Me: “We’ll weren’t actively sending messages”
Them: “But I’m not seeing the status change we documented”
Me: “What patient did you document on?”
Them: “Pt XYZ”
Me: “Yup, we sent that message 45 minutes ago and the other system acknowledged/accepted it”
Them: "Then why arent we seeing it?
Me: “Check with their support…”
20 minutes later, yeah there was an issue in the other system. This was a weekly conversation, same users, same applications, same results.
But my favorite variant of this conversation is the one where they eventually realize that the reason they’re not seeing data in the other system is because…the nurse never documented on that patient. Happened too many times
“Well, it’s $5 for use of the hammer, $495 for knowing exactly where to hit the machine.”
Same thing with working in IT
“You just sit and hit buttons all day”
Yeah, but it’s knowing which buttons to press
It’s been a while since I watched this, but I believe they were toeing the line when it came to the ban. Like, they’re not looking to create a superior being or advance the human race, but more to study and eliminate particular disease and sickness.
