I saw that about the re-write and assumed it was the cause, but it would have been nice to be told about it before it happened…
Battery life and screen quality first and foremost. They’re often related to each-other. Battery life because I feel it’s the one aspect that hasn’t improved very much at all over the past 10 years, and if I don’t have enough battery, I literally can’t use my phone. Screen quality because I look at the screen whatever I do with the phone, so if the screen is bad, everything else cannot make it a better phone.
Following this tutorial will block TLDs used by some Lemmy instances, such as .zip.
I’m a bit late to the party, but for me there’s one main addition that would make everything better: concentient options to share—or copy—posts as either links to the lemmy discussion or to the original URL. This is especially nice to have for pictures, where you might choose to send a copy of the picture itself or just a link the original.
I had the same bug, but it seems fixed in 1.0.6 (10). Thanks!
Personal Finance has very little activity, sadly…
And god forbid you mention Windows. You’ll be told you’re better off dead in no time…
What did he do?
You know, I just realised this yesterday. I thought to myself “oh, this is mostly the same as Carrot, then!”. Good to know :)
Thanks! I’m going to try the free version :)
I’m using the free version and it’s still great. The best feature for me is that you can see hourly timelines of temperature and precipitation for every day for the week ahead. I’ve found the free data source to be reliable enough, so I don’t currently have a reason to pay.
AdGuard does both, which is why it’s good.
Do you need a paid license to get both features, or is the free version enough?
I didn’t know that was possible. Thanks for sharing!
What makes you choose Wipr over AdGuard and Ghostery?
It’s got better recently, but it used to be that you can only do that sometimes, and it wasn’t clear when the gesture would work and when it wouldn’t. Fortunately, it seems that most apps have added support for that recently, so it’s closer to the Android back gestures.
It’s recently been bought by a generic mobile app development company. This thread has more discussion on the topic.
They haven’t. The thread linked is from 2 years ago.
Thanks! I’ve been happy with 7-Zip for Windows, but what you’re describing sound like an upgrade with few downsides, if any. I’ll try it next time I get the chance!
It used to be the same on the old site, where there was a wider distribution of opinions. It’s interesting to see it here, too, where most opinions seemee bias to one side.
Gestures work well, too!
The one thing that has become worse for me is that the label for the username of the poster invisibly extends all the way to the right side (at least in compact mode). That sometimes result in being taken to the user’s profile page instead of the main body of the post, because I clicked the elongated username label rather than the main post card.
OP, be aware that updating will wipe your settings and you’ll have to re-do everything from scratch.
