So let me get this straight… Microsoft demanded all PC manufactures change their keyboards to add a new key that is only useful in Windows (at a considerable cost to manufacturers), and now that key doesn’t do anything? No wait, I shouldn’t be surprised.

I’m certainly not the type to get out on a bike and ride 50 miles a day, but on the other hand despite spending a lot of time at the computer I also spend a lot of time working on projects and moving around. Just this week I started cutting up the steel to build a new utility trailer so I certainly move around a lot, but my body still hates me.

I wish this helped me, but my back always starts hurting when I go for walks… although it’s more my middle-back rather than lower. I try to get in a 30-minute walk at least twice a week, plus of course things like going to the grocery store and mowing the lawn add a lot of time. Never seems to be enough to help though.

Oh I came clean. We were actually trying to figure out HOW it happened so we could try and prevent the same issue in the future.

How many times can the same person post the same damn question in a ten-minute period? Seriously, you had to post that other question four times with very slight changes in wording? Just ask your shit ONCE and be done with it.

Worst thing in the office place was when some idiot left their window open in the middle of Winter, temps fell below 0F with high winds, and froze the 2" sprinkler pipes running over their office. Flooded most of the 2nd floor then started running through and raining out onto the 1st floor (and then into the basement). And it happened during covid lock-downs so it was fortunate anyone was even in the building to report it.

My own personal oopsie was checking network cabling in a small room, bent over to check things low and then wandered out to check elsewhere… Then noticed there was a LOT of commotion on the sales floor. Turns out I hit the power switch on one of the phone cabinets with my ass and shut down half the phone lines.

Not that it’s actually possible, but if Texas ever DID secede it would mean that the GOP would never again win a vote for the presidential race (unless California ALSO seceded).

I just find it hilarious that all these people claim they hate America so much that they want to leave, yet none of them are willing to simply move. I guess that would require too much personal effort.

The ZX81 wasn’t too terrible, and I was also using Apple ][ systems at school at the same time. I think the worst part was the small size, but at least it still had a slight amount of feedback, and you could actually navigate it at a decent speed. Personally I would rate the idea of typing on a phone screen as the absolute worst thing I’ve ever tried to use.

Sounds like the term used by Amazon? I picked up eight 18TB “renewed” drives that have been in constant use for over a year now under a ZFS filesystem. Not a single error yet and the pool is about half full. At the time I bought them, they were about $100 cheaper (each) than brand new drives so that saved me quite a bit of money, but they were also a fairly new line of drives so there couldn’t have been much previous use on them anyway.

I never thought about this, but yeah it’s really strange that nobody ever talks about the survivors even though we know that rescue efforts were mounted at the time.

At least I actually acknowledge that ALL of the candidates are shit and we need to try to pick the one who has made some effort towards improving some aspects. If we’re “shameless” then what do you call the people who support someone who can’t even acknowledge their own mistakes and blame everyone else when something goes against them? Everything is “rigged”? A court of his peers is rigged because he lost? A national election is rigged because he lost? Hell even TV networks are rigged because he lost “The Apprentice”. The man thinks he’s a literal god and that everybody loves him, yet his ego can’t handle when photographic evidence shows how few people care to support him.

You’re the one who is trying to change grade-school level politics to suit your own beliefs. If you think I’m making this up then it’s up to you to prove me wrong. If the best you can come up with is name-calling then you already know you lost the argument.

So according to your own links, Democrats controlled the House and Republicans controlled the Senate after the 2020 election. And what’s your point? Anything as contentious as women’s rights can be passed by one chamber and vetoed by the other chamber. They still don’t have any authority to overrule SCOTUS, and they can’t pass something without support from both chambers.

As I said before, your argument has no weight. If this were an easy thing to do, Republicans also could have passed a bill completely eliminating women’s rights in the past when they had full control of both houses and the presidency. Funny how they didn’t do that.

Also, 2010 was the last time Dems controlled both houses, so you’re wrong on that count as well.

Which makes no difference since they have no say over SCOTUS rulings. You could just as easily be arguing that the Republicans didn’t block abortion rights during all of the many times they have been in control of both houses AND has a president backing them. Didn’t make any difference then, either, did it?

So you’re saying it was bad of Biden to take families and humanitarian considerations into account when when he passed his bill, and he should have just done the same thing Trump did? Plus Biden already knows it’s going to get shot down in court (just like Trump’s bill did) and therefore it has no teeth except for shutting down the whiny complaints of Trump.

The Dems are in charge? Excuse you? Republicans have 49 votes (compared to 47 for Dems) in the Senate, and 218 votes (213 for Dems) in the House.

Do we trust the guy who tanked his own party’s bipartisan bill just so he could still keep rambling on about there being a “problem” with immigrants? We all know Biden only made this change because conservatives can’t see part their own rhetoric about the border problem, they choose to ignore that Republicans won’t pass any bill regarding the border with daddy-Trump’s blessing, now will they acknowledge the fact that the number of people illegally entering has actually gotten lower under Biden.

If the party on the right actually wanted to DO something about immigration, they could have done so already. This post is just another lame attempt to make a “both sides” argument while ignoring the reality of the situation.
