Alien Isolation is seriously one of the best games ever made and it still holds up today. It was just a bit too long.
Right, I’ve heard recently in a podcast about Sonic that hedgehogs are seen as exotic animals in the US.
You don’t see them very often here either because they are mostly active in the dark, so I’m also happy to see one every time. And so is my dog.
Nothing really. I guess insect enthusiasts will have one or two to find only here in Germany?
We’re relatively small and surrounded by other countries, I would be surprised if any species stays within this border.
The Old Tower from around 1300. It was part of a church that was destroyed in 1880.
Cyan is not blue and magenta is not red.
I like going for a walk around the city or to the Rhine river and watch the ships go by.
If you’re the social kind, go to the park and ask someone who plays frisbee or other activity to join in.
Running is a great sport that’s relatively cheap and also helps against depression.
Geocaching is fun alone and with other people, but not in the city (in my opinion).
Check your local newspaper and see what events are going on. Sometimes events are cheap or even free.
Found the colleague
Not peculiar but it was fun watching them failing to build their nest at the top of the tree in front of my balcony. The wind blew everything down immediately, it was like a slapstick film. They tried for a week but never managed to fix more than a few sticks and those are gone by now too. Hope they found a better spot.
I looked in the mirror.
Kinda kidding, I have not found anyone for longterm but I learned to be ok with it and stop hating myself.
It would be tough in the beginning but sure. I’ve watched everything interesting anyw… oh what’s that? Another rabbit hole!
I don’t know if it’s the best (what defines that?) but it’s what I do.
I wake up, my dog notices and jumps around in excitement. I greet him, pet him, then take my phone, do the daily NYT Mini Crossword and browse around for a few minutes while he lies down again, waiting patiently. I stand up, go pee, then I take my dog out for a walk. Afterwards I prepare my oatmeal, then prepare my dog’s food (it needs to soak a few minutes), go open all windows to get fresh air in, start the work computer and quickly check my mails, then we both eat our breakfast while I check my RSS feeds.
A danish dough whisk. Somehow it’s easier to mix dough and it won’t have so much gunk sticking between the wires like in the balloon shaped whisks. It can be cleaned easy by hand. It’s pretty large though.
I’m sure there is intelligent life out there but if we ever cross paths is very uncertain.
The problem is that I feel like the higher ups might some day look at who is bringing in money and who doesn’t and then think „Do we even need this guy?“. I feel useless. My previous job was very toxic about this stuff. They would punish me for not having any tasks even though it’s not my fault. Which is why I always make sure to tell people when I’m not busy and even suggest things I could do. Still, I get lots of downtime between projects in my current job. I kinda got used to it but it’s always nagging on me.
But bored? No. I always find activities to do. Play with my dog, do housework, read a book, play games, take a nap,… Even days with full downtime go by very fast. But I’m at home. It would be different if I had to be in the office and look busy all the time.
