Paying a monthly subscription in addition to an upfront cost to have a billboard in my kitchen is going to be a tough sell.
I can’t decide if this move is designed to overwhelm (or at least increase the workload of) the Wine team so that they can’t do as good a job reducing people’s dependence on Windows with their core product, or whether this is part of my prediction playing out - MS abandoning kernel/OS development in favour of a skinned Linux on which they can still harvest data and sell subscriptions.
In any case charity from a corporation is never truly charitable!

I’m so glad you posted this - my integrated fridge door has dropped slightly after being taken off and put back on when installed. Can’t really screw back into mdf/chipboard/whatever and I’ve been stressing about getting it fixed for months because whilst it’ll get worse over time, it technically works and no doubt the fitter would say I need to take the whole thing out and replace the side panel.
Thank you!
I don’t think the just stop oil people are advocating a sudden immediate and 100% stopping of oil use…
Rather an aggressive elimination of our reliance on oil.
You could get “smart flood detectors” cheap on amazon that use smart life. They make a sound (not the loudest tbf) and trigger notifications on your phone via the app.
Maybe not the greatest for privacy but might start the trail…
No doubt fiscal policies put this (and other) councils on the back foot, but it’s reductive to ignore that the thing that tipped them over the edge was bureaucratic incompetence combined with being fucked by the Oracle Corporation.

This is the worst with local host too
Jokes about the French aside, there’s a lot of the “blue zone” factors here so I can believe it!
Great documentary on Netflix btw.
Finally a proper vertical tabs option!
Personal preference ofc but after trying it on a whim I can’t go back.
To be honest it wouldn’t even let me download it off a vpn, on a different OS that hadn’t connected to a vpn, or in a different browser.
Had to find somewhere other than the Microsoft site to get one.
To be fair I was told by a dietician that a lot of companies don’t use the vegan logo in the uk because in order to do so they must be certified by the vegan society (name?) which is expensive.
Sounded a bit like a troll toll.
There should be an industry standard “vegan friendly” or other such label that doesn’t require giving loads of money to an organisation to use.
Well done and thank you to everyone involved!!
Is this… unexpected?
Genuine question.
“Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.”
Kinda cool though tbf. Wrappable tech would be an awesome next step, like a watch that’s all screen that you can completely wrap around your wrist.
