Lol if that was the end of it instead of them writing up an entire article on how the said feature is ‘cruel’ and ‘too far’, it’d be a different story. Maybe read the article?..

How very entitled to take someone else’s creation and decide which parts of it are “too far”. This form of journalistic media can be done well when the emotional tones include reflection and philosophy but all that’s here is ranting and a complete lack of introspection. Author should probably find a day job but who am I to say.
If I had to add anything I’d just say keep in mind your DNA is not a static measurement. There are plenty of mutations and changes over your lifespan and within different cells themselves. You may want to generate a fantasy way of handling this.
I think you know the answer deep down in your heart. Embrace the wall, live the garden.
I understand what you’re saying, but you should further clarify your question because technically almost every android device runs a Linux kernel making them Linux cell phones.
Because people on Bing video or Odyssey are more likely to engage with Google services…
Ah, wasn’t sure if they shipped with their own version of webkit for compatibility or invoked the system call. Unfortunate that it’s the latter.
You may try a downloaded browser, they likely ship with a newer version of webkit than what’s on the system or in the store but I’m not 💯 and Google didn’t reveal any clarity on the matter.
Is anyone really using that sensor? From what I’ve heard it’s wildly inaccurate and a general pain in the ass to use.
That’s pay in vs risk. Insurance companies for electronics would have long gone out of business without additional efficiencies over pay in vs risk. I worked for a national insurer for a while and electronic claims were several factors higher than health, life, or home.
Insurance companies also get parts wholesale and keep large stocks of referbished devices. Not saying they don’t profit, but the margins aren’t there because the pay in outweighs the risk, they’re there because they have effective supply chains and manufacture direct deals to procure hardware at costs not offered to the general public.
Imo backend FOSS needs a complete rethink with an easy way to manage one’s own digital stewardship. I’ve lost a ton of data to FOSS projects (masto, lemmy, etc) just because the random host I chose decided to close up shop. Not particularly the fault of the software vendor per sae, and while I do not wish to hassle with hosting my own entire instance I’d be happy paying for or hosting my own data.
Huel hot and savory is pretty good if you want most of the convience and nutrition profile, while still getting the “experience” of food.
FOSS hero. 💜
The lottery is by and far an excessive tax on the poor. That’s my only problem with it.
Protest without civil disruption is impossible. There’s many many examples of this throughout history. I wish it weren’t necessary, because yes I know things have become so bad under the current capitalistic economy that even a few hours or a day can make/break livelihoods, but it is necessary if we as a society want to have any hope of reclaiming power from our corporate and governmental overlords. They’re simply too entrenched and empowered in comparison to those they abuse at this point to fight with mere words alone.
…? My iPhone speaker blows my old m8 speaker out of the water by a long shot. This might just be nostalgia or your current pocket pal might just have a trash speaker.
To be fair, Prime Video has always just been a free perk attached to prime (and with all the other ‘perks’ combined you could basically consider it free). For example I get an extra 3% back on all my Amazon orders by being a prime member. At the current cost of prime and just with the home supplies I order w/ subscribe and save, it pays for itself. That’s not to say I’m happy with this, but in actuality they’re fairly well positioned with the product to make this move and have most of the user base be merely disgruntled.
If you’ve got credit card paranoia, Privacy.com has a solution for you. I personally just rely on my credit cards theft/fraud protection programs.
