I hope this comment is satire because it’s hilarious.
All I’ve got left is my bones
Lemmy learns exponential math.
Mostly joking, thanks for doing the math.
I can’t really remember Hilda but I remember liking it. I think these recommendations are a similar vibe. I also did not like Gravity Falls but should probably give it another try since I didn’t give it a fair shot.
Dara, Steven Universe, Bee and Puppycat would be my recommendations.** I’ve ranted about them below trying to describe them but honestly you should probably just ignore my rant and watch some episodes since they are all short.**
It’s been a while since I’ve watched Dara so I can remember deets but it’s a cute and chill show.
Steven Universe is possibly my favourite show, 12 min episodes so really easy to consume. It’s dorky (especially at first) and takes a while to get going. But when it does it has a lot going for it. Action, adventure, humour, all with an upbeat and warm tone. It tackles some pretty deep topics but can be a little on the nose sometimes. The character arcs are satisfying and the whole plot feels very intentional and comes to a close satisfyingly. Who am I kidding it’s definitely my favourite show. If you’ve seen ATLA I think they are quite similar in plot and episode structure, but SU has more adult themes, better humour & character arcs, and a better plot overall. (IMO, don’t yell at me ATLA fans).
Bee and Puppycat has two runs, a YouTube one then a sort of remake on Netflix, it’s confusing and idk which one to recommend, I like the both though. So far it seems quite similar to SU except much less structured. It’s very cutesy and fun but I feel like there’s some ADHD vibes in terms of writing and the main character (I don’t mean this in an entirely bad way, I have ADHD). It just feels a bit scatterbrained at times. That being said I really like it and I’m hoping the creator gets more seasons approved.
This used to happen to me all the time but I think it randomly stopped.
Legs can’t get me to work in 12-15 mins or carry my groceries for me. Neither can the bus.
Thank you for continuously ignoring my point.
Good talk.
Ahhhh the ol’ Canadian loop hole.
You gotta learn context
Really? I think you’re ignoring the context of my post within the thread. The image in discussion doesn’t assert unions are good, or CEOs are bad, or small business are good or anything you bring up in your post. The image in discussion asserts CEOs have a bad work ethic, which is factually incorrect and completely unproductive in terms of advancing work reform.
I was using my father as a comparison to say: People can be hard workers and still treat their employees badly.
I agree with everything in your comment. My only point is that I don’t think painting CEOs as incompetent people with poor work ethics serves any purpose except that of making some people feel good about themselves.
Misrepresenting or misunderstanding your “adversaries” serves only to distract from the real problem and maybe provide some entertainment. OPs post about “CEOs not hustling” is likely factually incorrect and more importantly completely irrelevant to the problems we face as a society. It’s inflammatory and makes people mad but for the wrong reasons and at the wrong people.
A CEO is paid to make money for their company, they are not paid to make their employees happy. You pay your government to represent you and your needs, get mad at them for allowing CEOs to run businesses at the expensive of their employees.
My point is that assuming CEO’s have a shitty work ethic is a bad assumption and also irrelevant to reforming work culture.
Yes CEOs and small business owners are quite different, but the kinds of people who become CEOs of billion dollar companies are not the kinds of people who have a bad work ethic. They get there by being good at their job which presumably means working hard at it.
I’m not trying to defend CEOs, I just don’t think it’s productive to misrepresent them.
This is such a dumb assumption. My dad owns a small business and quite frankly says and does a lot of shit that drives me nuts. He unironically has said “nobody wants to work”, and has never seemed too sympathetic to his employees despite him becoming wealthy and most of them living paycheck to paycheck.
All of that said, he has worked extremely hard his entire life. He worked 14 hour days for years to build his company and I have a lot of respect for his work ethic, despite not really respecting the way he treats his employees.
Tl:dr: CEOs may often be massive pos’ but assuming they are incompetent or have a bad work ethic is reductive and pretty fucking stupid. IMO
Wheel of time, Name of the wind, Malazan, the broken sword, eyes of the dragon, the gilded chain, wizard of eathsea.
Admittedly not that many, I guess part of the problem for me is finding ones that look interesting.
I googled it instead. Loving the first few entries. Specifying only the first Ender book but the entire (Frank Herbert) Dune series is 👌. The fact that the rest of the Dune series is mostly ignored is criminal. The first book is far from the best and the series varies so much in setting and tone that it stays interesting to me after many readings.
Malazan is a slog. Definitely don’t read unless you want to power through imo. I’ve tried multiple times and while I think it’s well written I never seem to stay hooked. So many character/location changeups early in the book and none of them hooked me.
Probably the best book I’ve never finished though?
I cannot for the life of me get that image to load at a readable resolution. Imgur how far you have fallen…
That subreddit was simultaneously the funniest and creepiest subreddit I’ve ever visited. It’s hilarious how sure they are that they will all be billionaires but I always got the creeps when thinking about how I was reading the comments from a bunch of people just throwing their life savings down the toilet.
