Lol, the suffering too, huh. That’s adorable.
Lol, it’ll totally work this time around, pinkie promise.

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•I started my deGoogling journey by using an E Ink phone devoid of GApps, and I couldn't be more pleased
31·5 months agoNope, just a personal account of using the phone for the last couple months. Take notice there is zero advertising on the site, no affiliation whatsoever, it’s completely unmonetized, created for readers not bots or corporations. I literally got the phone to deGoogle, so it seemed appropriate to the sub to me.

1·5 months agoShould be fine, grab the apk from the site or get it from F-Droid. You’ll have to install a browser or F-Droid first, but the Mudita Center app makes this trivial to get the APK on the device for install.

Mechanical Keyboards@lemmy.ml•Keebuilder is the mechanical keyboard cataloging and sharing app I've been waiting for
1·5 months agoI dunno, I’m posting my boards one a week to social media like Twitter and Reddit, for a year. 52 boards, and that’s not even the entire collection. I’m putting these boards into Keebuilder, as a way to track my collection while adding in all the nice photos I’m taking for the social posts. There’s certainly no shortage of using my boards when posting to social media, but I do see your point that Keebuilder is a phone app and you don’t use a keyboard to fill in its information.
I guess for me my boards are getting use no matter what, I’m fine with using my phone to catalog the collection, my boards aren’t complaining they’re getting ignored.
It’s still working, set myself up the other day. You have to use a specific version of the app, an older one, and turn off Internet when installing so you can toggle the auto update off. There is a fork of Alfs code, but I just used the regular one and it was fine.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Is there something like LinkedIn, but without big tech involvement, no data collection, no ads, open source, and preferably decentralized (maybe Fediverse or even P2P)?
7·6 months agoYou’ll never get the recruiters to participate, because their companies will never let them. LinkedIn is corpo hive-mind central, friendly to corpos first and foremost. What you’re proposing wouldn’t be friendly to corpos, inherently, so they’ll never join, and they hold the strings because they are the ones with jobs to offer.
You’re literally asking how to take the corporatism out of LinkedIn when that is precisely what allows it to exist. Why would any company participate on a platform that gives workers the advantage? Hint, they won’t.

Gaming@lemmy.ml•Ananta looks absolutely ridiculous, if only it weren't free-to-play
2·6 months agoIt’s a conundrum, as being free-to-play is why the silly fanservice exists, T&A sells. But should China move past this shit with premium releases, they could end up buckling to the pressure to appeal to the modern audience and tone things down like everyone else, thus destroying what makes their designs so appealing in the first place.
Kodi is my preferred choice

Technology@lemmy.ml•It was a rough night for Meta after the company botched two onstage demos of its latest smart glasses at its annual Connect conference
4·6 months agoAnyone wanna buy a 3D TV? Or maybe we can play an Augmented Reality game. I know, let’s trade some NFTs. Nah, clearly VR is the ticket.
Maybe somebody should let meta know VR is yesterday’s news, AI is the hot new scam nobody asked for and nobody wants.

2·6 months agoLol, ain’t that the truth, in-stock buys tend to take a lot of digging and luck. Glad I could help. Maybe share the finished product in the sub, would love to see how you build it out.

1·6 months agoDepends on the layout you pick, might need a couple of stabilizers. A 3 pack of your favorites should cover ya.
I guess that’s my worry. Simple for me to fix, yes. For my parents or grandparents, I’m not so sure.

Y’all do know Kagi is literally using AI to rewrite the news, right? Not only the headline, the entire body too. https://news.kagi.com/world/latest
If you think Kagi of all places is gonna be safe from AI, think again. They are all in on the AI hype train. They might not be selling your data (yet), but best believe you’re paying them to train their AI.
