Good thing hexchan’s take is totally irrelevant!

Hexchan ain’t really doing any better. Sure are patting themselves on the back about what great allies they are though! I know that’s what I like in an ally, not actual help with the whole rights thing, but empty posturing and condescension!

When I was a kid one of my cats adopted a family down the road. He’d come home most nights, but would stay sometimes and would regularly eat at both houses.

That sounds like a happy cat who gets to have a healthy relationship with being inside or outside.

I’ve been having a number of conversations on Hexchan recently trying to make sense of their politics. The most common instance of their hateful hypocrisy I’ve encountered is this constant assurance that they support trans people while immediately attacking and dog piling and trans people who point out that the situation would be much worse under Trump.

I live in Massachusetts. We are a very blue state and we’re one of the best places in the world to transition. We have informed consent, legal protection of our basic rights, and mandatory insurance coverage of trans health care, which state insurance also covers. Whatever you think of the DNC, the Democrats in Massachusetts are absolutely allies of trans people who’ve worked to actively protect our rights.

Still, I’m well aware of the danger that federal law could potentially pose. I know there may be a time when I have to flee the country if things get bad enough, and that’s a lot more likely under Trump.

But they don’t actually care about my rights, happiness, or safety, or those of any other trans people. They don’t care what happens to us, they just want to use us as a bludgeon to dunk on people.

The hexchanners who aren’t actively Russian trolls seem to be little more than useful idiots for conservatives, minimizing the damage they do to vulnerable populations and engaging in high school level pettiness and hate.

So what, you just keep them locked up and anxious forever? Is that punishment for the birds?

My right to exist. I’m a trans woman who is very aware that I may need to flee the country in the next few years depending on where things go. I’m extremely aware of the attacks on my life and my access to the medication I need. This shit is not abstract for me.

There’s a very big difference between having lipservice support from the federal government while living in a state that’s literally one of the best places on Earth to transition, and hoping said state will protect me from a federal government that’s actively hostile.

Are federal Democrats actively allies to trans people? Eh.

Are Massachusetts Democrats? You bet your ass they are. We’ve got more rights than trans people in most of the EU. We have informed consent, mandatory insurance coverage for trans health care, actual legal protection from discrimination.

You act like there’s no difference, but I’m literally better protected here than I would be anywhere outside of like maybe like the Netherlands.

I’m not in this to act like a high school child, I’m in it because people want to fucking wipe me and everyone like me out.

I ain’t from hexchan. Just somebody who thinks animals should be treated decently and not just collected.

I mean, you don’t actually have to take other species prisoner at all.

I don’t know, a lot of people are pretty shit to their cats and the cats don’t seem to have much say over the situation.

If you’re like a happy cat with a nice place to live and freedom to explore or hang out at home according to your whims, that’s probably a pretty okay life for the most part. But if you’re an ‘indoor’ cat spending your entire life locked in a small space that may be cramped, dirty, or scary, that’s a pretty different thing.

The contradiction of pet ownership is kinda fucked. Like, how are you going to try to keep a cat who desperately wants to escape trapped inside and pretend it’s your buddy rather than your prisoner?

Same with people who have dogs that they just leave penned up or tied to a post all the time. How can anyone think that’s any kind of life?

I honestly wouldn’t give those people the dignity of calling them leftists. They’re too concerned about cosplaying as activists and dunking on people to actually give a shit about advancing the rights of real people or trying to protect anything good.

Honestly, it’s begun to feel more hostile and shady. Pretty sure the Russian trolls are here, but hexchan ain’t helping either. I’m waiting for a client side instance block feature. We really need it.

Out here desperately hoping that the fake leftists propping up Trump are mostly Russian trolls or just a pocket of internet children. I think actual real life people on the left in the US largely get how dangerous this could be.
