  • Turkey has the STM Kargu, which reportedly was devastating in the most recent # Nagorno-Karabakh fighting, as the autonomous suicide drone can’t be jammed

Ukrainian units have (reportedly) already loaded ‘final approach’ AI target tracking and flight controls on their suicide FPV & glider drones, to counter Russian RF jammers mounted on tanks and heavy vehicles

We really, really aren’t prepared for the threat vector that cheap (sub $500/ea for FPV) and autonomous drones provide, and every RF engineer and drone enthusiast I’ve spoken to has no good counter aside from barriers like nets. And that’s just the ones that fly their bombs INTO things, drone-dropped explosives are hard to detect without thermal imagers or specialized radar/acoustic detection

Though I managed in chemistry, I understand that kcal is just an expression of energy and the reaction’s event total time is important in judging ‘violence’ of reaction - but for the uninitiated like myself, how do I quantify “433 kcal” compared to a more mundane reaction?

You can do that rolling trick for the dribble with standard flatware, you do have to spin faster though to get it to work well.

The same idea applies to things you’re pouring out of; twist axially while tipping the container upright and you’ll have dramatically less spillage, even with viscous fluids like honey.

By rejecting materialism and embracing anti-materialism you are freed from the shackles of the physical constructs around us, able to shape and bend your environment- even from a long distance.

The individual practice is relatively new, starting in the mid 1910s but it blossomed and has ardent support in multiple nations with different styles expressed. Russians lean towards simplicity and utilitarianism, the American practice trends avant-garde, while the Chinese largely iterate on existing foundations.

Until we achieve a revolutionary advancement in science, anti-materialism is here to stay, and not just because of knee-jerk Luddite sentiment, but because of the unique effects it has on our world and others.

  • Unfortunately Boeing genuinely has become “too big to fail” and we’re all going to suffer through this until it becomes untenable like Union Carbide/Exxon or it gets ignored and quietly resolved without address the core issue

    • Significant stock market presence in investment funds and retirement portfolios
    • Prime contractor for US and global civic and military aviation
    • Military angle cannot be ignored here, both for geopolitics, force readiness, and domestic politics, with production purposefully scattered across Senate & Congressional districts
    • Major ‘banner’ exporter of airframes globally, which in turn locks in lifecycle purchases and repeat business to the US vs foreign firms like Airbus/BAE/Rostec

Having it be privatized/hostile government takeover would be chaos not just administratively speaking, Boeing has achieved integration throughout the economy and political machinery

  • While it may have begun that way (and may still be the overwhelming use case, idk the breakdown) devs are using it for FOSS releases, and that’s where the ‘less literate’ crowd enters. Sourceforge was very simple to use, and had a consistent layout. GitHub wasn’t meat to be a SF replacement, but here we are having this discussion
