I’ve been really happy with fedora, specifically the KDE spin. Looks amazing and a lot of things just work.
I’m a sysadmin and we are in the very early stages of rolling out windows 11 to our users. Windows is windows, but I just can’t help but have observations that windows 11 looks like KDE did maybe 10 years ago? It’s like a badly themed linux distro from 2015…
There is plenty of propaganda on lemmy. You just have to realize you will always be fed propaganda and understand there is propaganda on each side of every issue…
I’m coming back to linux as a main desktop, finally ditching windows (again). I tried out fedora workstation and the fedora KDE spin. KdE looks so good now, before i atteibuted it to a windows wanna-be knock off. This was back in the windows xp days… now it looks so polished. I probably prefer it to gnome because I’ve been a windows user for so long but gnome is nice with its minimal approach, looks nice and clean. Can’t get away from how nice KDE looks though, I’m going to stick with that I think.
This seems more likely thinking about it, before I was doing coding as a hobby. If I was working on something at work that I wasn’t particularly passionate about I may not obsess as much.
I used to dabble in coding. Never done it professionally. To be a full time developer would probably kill me, I remember constantly thinking of how to build this or that function, or how to do a certain thing, or why something keeps failing. I’d constantly be thinking these things, in the shower, while brushing my teeth, while driving, it was making me insane. Don’t think I could do it professionally.
OK I’ve tried in the past to make a decent streaming box from both windows media center edition and various Linux distros. But I need something that is simple, can be controlled entirely from a remote, and has the major streaming apps (Netflix, disney, etc). I haven’t really found any solution that’s easy enough for non techie people to use. I have a standalone roku box that works ok we also have a roku TV which is a giant piece of garbage, and I’m considering buying an external roku or nvidia shield as a streaming box instead, I do have a couple of raspberry pi 4s I could use one but again I’m faced with the same issues.
If you have a bicycle already you can buy conversion kits for around $150 on the low end for the kit and a few hundred for a battery pack (depending on your needs). Search Amazon and ebay for ebike conversion kits.
I see so many people driving brand new vehicles, new jeep trucks and grand wagoneers. These vehicles start at like 60k and go up to like 100k. Yeah people can’t afford them, but they’re still buying them. They’re thinking it’s a tomorrow problem.
I suppose we should stop hurricanes by drying up the ocean… just install a drain, really horrible ocean management.
Or stop earthquakes by putting rubber feet under cities, very poor city design…
Honestly after he suggested injecting lysol or bleach directly in to your veins to cure covid I will never be shocked at the slander that comes out of this idiot.
Must not be very good if this newbie can hit you up that easily…
I love this story, wish I still had the link.
Some people are really stupid. Like seriously when it comes to every day functions many people struggle. Especially when it comes to vehicles, some people just know that there is on and off and forward and backwards… never take anything else into account. It’s because of this that flying cars would be a disaster, you can’t have these things breaking down all the time or running out of gas. I’ve seen people literally lock themselves in vehicles before, never change their oil, put antifreeze in the washer fluid canister, drive on a flat until the tire ripped apart, evevtually fell off and had to buy a new rim. Some people should really not be allowed to drive without passing some sort of “basic knowledge about vehicles and what to do when something goes wrong” course.
Like pink mist?
OK so lots of comments about healthy alternatives and such… but you asked what taste best, well to me that’s the Gatorade glacier cherry. I buy the individual powder packs and mix my own, and I get the zero sugar one, but imo that’s the best flavor.
One of my favorite things eas when I was a teenager living at my parents was roll start my ford ranger because I always parked in a spot that was on a fairly steep incline.
