Okay, so then i’ll focus on the specific claim of right during/before the early 1900s everyone was peacefully coexisting.
Sure, near the end of the ottoman empire there was a very brief period where there was some coexistence. Very brief.

From the muslim conquest of the levant in the 7th century, to the christian crusades across several centuries… there has been seemingly countless wars in the name of religion in the region. The conflict goes back much, much longer than 124 years.
Anyway, you talk about this being a question of something. I see no questions whatsoever. I just see hate after hate, bloodshed after bloodshed. It won’t end until humans bring themselves to extinction or one side wipes out the other because we’re incapable as a species of anything else.
I’m glad that the UN is pushing to get Israel out of the Gaza Strip at the least, but the damage is already done. The cycle will just continue because the hate will never end.
The jewish and the palestinians have something in common. They were both driven from their home. It’s a shame that coexistence wasn’t the way it went but that’s humans for you… everyone who isn’t one of you is an other, and humans hate others.
Peace seems to always lose.

This will trigger massive outrage when people’s dead kids, parents, pets, etc suddenly appear in photos because the algorithm can’t tell if someone is living or dead.
It signifies that chinese made games about chinese/buddhist mythology will be incredibly popular in China.
People go nuts for soulsclones regardless but given that this is probably the very first chinese mythology soulslike with professional production values no one should be at all surprised that it sells in China and abroad. Also the fact that it’s cheaper than china than any other region on earth is certainly a factor in it’s sales.
As of right now, of it’s overall 354,187 steam reviews, only 14,757 are in english.
Keep in mind that the US and Western Europe combined have about a third of China’s population.
Two problems:
Benchmarks are not real world performance.
Video card drivers are still not up to snuff as they are with windows, to the best of my knowledge. (don’t kill me if i’m wrong!)
Everything machine learning will be called “ai” from now until forever.
It’s like how all rc helicopters and planes are now “drones”
People en masse just can’t handle the nuance of language. They need a dumb word for everything that is remotely similar.
They treat people like cattle because they are protecting the airplanes and the airline’s liability, not the people onboard or in line to board.
If people think it’s unsafe people won’t pay up to fly.
I’ve yet to see a subscription that doesn’t abuse it’s customers. Time and time again predatory practices are employed by massive multibillion dollar companies like adobe, amazon, planetfitness (and all of the f’ing gym memberships…)
This is not to mention all of the predatory landlords who simply live off of the hard work of others akin to slave ownership. Primary housing shouldn’t be an investment. If you want to rent a home the renters should become mandatory purchasers and get proportional equity to how much money you put in it, a system can be divised to sell shares in housing that you can sell out.
Fuck rent. Same goes for the telcos ‘renting’ services to us. We pay for the subsidies to put up the fiber lines anyway, why are we paying again for them? The real costs are a small fraction of what we pay.
I worry about the monthly charges every month when I check my credit card bill. I would never stop worrying about my mouse.
Are you ready for subscription level replacement parts?
It would be a shame if your scrollwheel would die every 3 months and be a $30 replacement before $10 shipping.
Replacement buttons every year or so…
They want your business forever. They can’t do that for free, they need you to keep paying them regularly.
Sounds like e911 or pots lines.
2028… so plenty of time for appeals and there will be basically no downward pressure on the housing market there since there is no big rush to offload 10k units that won’t make money.
It’s too bad, would have been better if they just revoked it immediately and banned it in the city.
All I know is what many have said time and time again. There is one main thread that everything else depends on, so no matter how much horsepower you throw at it you are constrained by whatever logic or calculation that one thread is doing.
For all I know it’s a memory bandwidth thing or even a disk access thing pertaining to that one thread which makes everything else wait. They use their own homegrown engine and there’s a bottleneck in the code somewhere, obviously.
I’m kind of surprised they don’t have something that’s more scalable because they built a new engine for X:Rebirth which came out in 2013. Maybe they started the engine rebuild before dual core and quad core cpus were mainstream in the late 2000s.
I mean if you’re german you could try working for them lol
x series has largely been cpu limited by single main thread as long as it’s existed fwiw
Remember when google didn’t do evil? Remember when they were hip, cool and not the living nightmare of a corporation we see of them today?
Anyone who thinks their steam libraries will be safe forever is delusional.
Eventually a for-profit motivated individual will gain control and they will use all their MBA learnings to maximize subscriptions, per play revenue, per download revenue and overall provide a cheaper platform.
There isn’t an mba on the planet that doesn’t recognize that advertising is highly lucrative and being the company that sells the most pc games means you have metrics no one else has. They’ll instantly monetize advertising and the popups we get when we log in today will turn into mandatory non-skippable ads on the free tier to start a game, and they’ll add their wrapper on top of games in their store, especially games that do not currently need steam to play today.
It’ll only get way worse. Expect everything to be pay to play… once gaben is gone. They have a monopoly and any leader would think they are too big to fail. No one can just take their games elsewhere… we’re locked in. We’re committed. We can’t escape. They’ve got us by the balls.
Given this is a lawsuit from the conservative telecom industry in a conservative justice system against policies that protect a largely ultra-liberal group (hollywood) I can see this going well for the telecoms.
What we want as individuals is for the policing to go away but that’s not how the US works. Instead there will be some other kind of system devised to try and lock down media even further while keeping fines and enforcement responsibility away from the telecoms.
Maybe the IP holders will be granted unprecedented access as middlemen to monitor traffic and police it themselves, or maybe electronics will be required to be sold with special DRM mechanisms that require an authorized source of media, like they’ve been trying to inject everywhere for ages unsuccessfully.
Either way this lawsuit has no effect on me, or most people. Piracy that would lead to ISP action is avoided by proxies or VPN anyway, right? I can’t imagine anyone allegedly acquiring illicit material not using one of those services.
