I think it’s a pretty verifiable thing and that both sides have motive to push prop.

One just caught lying about this already. I don’t mean historically I mean this actual incident.

Instead of waiting as long as we have the ordinance should have been shown through spokesmen immediately and at the press conference the ministry held surrounded by bodies.

Seperately im fairly certain the Israeli security services have spies all over gaza. Somewhat grimly I think the air strikes have had a large component of people on the ground marking areas for strikes after confirming the presence of some Hamas member. As for the size of the explosion it’s not a great source but you can review pyrotechnic demonstrations of actual military munitions versus like a small special effects explosion and a lot of fuel. The former tends to not actually have a huge fire ploom like the hospital bombing had. There is one it’s just relatively small. If the rocket misfired and had a lot of ignited fuel spraying over the area… It causes that sort of imagery and casualties.

The hospital isn’t destroyed and no staff were killed.

A bunch of refugees in the parking lot, a lot less than reported by the health ministry, got killed by being coated in propellant and ignited. Fuel explosions make a big visual effect, but don’t really destroy buildings.

The same health ministry that over reported casualties is also hiding the ordinance remnants that did it instead of showing the world.

That pass doesn’t cover trains you actually want to take between regions. It’s basically a subway pass equivalent.

Source: I still pay €25 to go to the nearest city because it’s a 1+ hour train ride and going local station to local station sucks. Yes I have been busted by the Deutche Bahn employee checking Tickets and thought the country wide pass worked.

It’s functionally a way to communicate happiness with the service.

The restaurants I am a regular at know if I don’t leave a fat tip I wasn’t happy with how they performed. Waiting 20+ minutes just to pay is unacceptable to give a recent example. They were understaffed and some old dude In the attached hotel insisted on print out copies of his reservation details that he then argued about. I could have paid, cash or card, and been out in under a minute while this dude was reading his papers but instead I just sat there for almost half an hour after finishing my meal.

Should they still get paid unlike in the American system? Yes. But I’m fine with tipping as a general concept. In Germany we call it Trinkgeld and it’s usually 10%, and not exactly a thing you are expected to do every time you eat out, but I usually do 20%+ if I was satisfied.

50k is more than most Europeans make with 3-6 years of education… That’s my point.

It is low, but the take home in Europe is even lower like 25-30k, 60k before taxes with years of education, and you’re still paying €300 each month for public health insurance which takes up 5-10% of your income.

Some of my coworkers with PHDs and post docs and 5-10 years are only pulling 90k before taxes. An electric bike for example still costs €3-4k, and they have to pay for registration and insurance on it.

Money buys quality of life and access to distractions thay may or may not make you happy.

My companies’ Pension plan for retirement is one of the best ones left and still pays comparably dog shit to an IRA and 401k. It’s irrelevant to me because I’m here to do work that makes me happy.

I certainly enjoy eating at the fanciest restaurant in the area every week because it’s what I used to pay for dog shit delivery in SF.

I can travel whenever I want, etc.

The only thing I’m unhappy about is not being in the same timezone as most of my friends.

Edit : like shit, my Mexican intern is struggling with his visa and might need a €10k loan from me to stay in Europe and it’s nice I can actually give him that. It’s untenable for the rest of the native European people on my team to even entertain such a thing, that was 1 month salary for me years ago in LA.
