I think jumping spiders fit into the sapience category then. They’re known to learn different prey types and change their hunting strategies accordingly, even learning typical behaviour and being able to pick out sick/injured insects and figuring out they don’t need to go full stealth.

They’ve even been observed to enter REM like dreaming states, where it’s assumed they process a lot of the visual information they picked up throughout the day.

So basically every animal higher than the jumping spider might fit into the sapience category, which is kinda wild to think about

I would get a Galaxy Tab if the E-Ink isn’t vital for you. But otherwise it’s a very capable E-Int tablet, and it running Android means you can do anything on it you can an Android tablet.

The real killer is the latency though, for most things it’s pretty bad, except in Boox’s own apps where it’s so damn quick it feels like writing on paper.

I wouldn’t recommend it unless you know it’s exactly what you’re looking for, but if it is what you want then it’s easily best in class

I have a Boox Ultra C. It has the same screen, I can confidently say the colours are utter shite for any kind of colour sensitive work or media. However, they’re more than good enough for conveying information, like different coloured lines on a chart.

The colours also look sharp as fuck, as the grey scale is still used for brightness, and the colour just tints it. Meaning it looks a lot sharper than 150ppi and almost indistinguishable from 300ppi

I was more trying to point out that the original comment wasn’t saying that the tax break “made money”. It’s all about shuffling it around to avoid taxes.

At the end of the day, it allows Bill Gates (or other billionaires) to spend otherwise taxable income on whatever they deem important. Whether or not you agree with how they’re spending their money is irrelevant

1. Bill Gates pays less taxes as he donates to a charity

2. Bill Gates runs that charity

3. Bill Gates then gets to decide how that charity spends his donated money

This then means that he can use what should have been tax to:

4. Pay himself with the charities money, as he is an employee of the charity

5. Lobby politicians using the charity’s money

6. Otherwise direct the charity to work in his best interests

Which part are you disagreeing with? I guess he doesn’t “make money” in the strictest sense, but it sure seems like he’s exploiting the system to keep more of it
