Yeah, but the whole PCI DSS thing means that the app must still be secured. That doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to be tied to Google Play, but explain it to them.

IIRC they did coupons exclusively in their app a few years ago where I lived (haven’t checked since), and they hiked the price of everything, so if you don’t install the app, you get a 20% surcharge in effect.

That goes for every single shitty chain store as well.

I guess the problem is that app developers write the installers, and they suck at following conventions. Obligatory fuck Snap, as it creates a folder in the home dir, and it doesn’t even bother to hide it, and it is not even reconfigurable.

Ironic for the name of the game

DCS has combat oriented stuff but I don’t know if it has actual missions to use the weapons.

DCS literally stands for Digital Combat Simulator, it’s a combat sim all right, pretty much all missions are combat missions. The thing though is that it has a very high difficulty curve, and it’s more of a thinking game than an action one, you spend minutes setting up ground attack shots and even dogfighting is more about thinking and energy retention and stuff instead of twitchy reflex stuff.

The free DCS module is actually a pretty good one to start with, but mind the difficulty curve. While Ace Combat is like “missile incoming, turn sharp to dodge”, DCS is “boom - you’re dead”. At least in the campaign, set up the plane to drop flares constantly and stay above 4000.

One other reason I could see is pure idiocy. Like I’ve seen that there is a bias to using every feature some software has, and if a max limit can be set, it will be set, to a “reasonable” value.

Imagine having to contract with a company in order for them not to fuck your life up with your own data. This is ridiculous.

That, and society does not like it when you do so, and the more you get off the beaten path, the harder it gets.

To be honest, I’ve seen a lot of code in my line of work, and my experience says that if the speed of a language is your concern, you’re either in high-frequency trading or working on some real-time use case, or you’re wrong.

Most time you perceive as lag as a user comes from either atrocious programming, or network lag, or a combination of the two. A decently, not even well, but decently written Python vs Assembly subroutine will have differences in execution time measured in nanoseconds. Network calls usually measure in milliseconds, and something like a badly written DB query that reads a ton of data from a disk will do seconds or worse.

My point is, I’ll take a not-badly written Python program over someone claiming to have chosen C/C++ for the blazing fast speed in a user facing application, when half of CVEs ever have been submitted over memory safety problems in C/C++.

Simplicity of maintenance, and these help with good security.

Sure they want that, but which general? The one Trump murdered, or the one that Israel did recently? Just from the very restrained retaliations from that shows to me that they are doveish. Bibi is hawkish, and wants Trump in the Oval Office.

The isolationism is just a front for Trump wanting the US to switch sides in the global democracies vs. dictatorships divide. He wants to isolate from Europe and ally with Russia, North Korea, Israel.

Trump likes Bibi, and likes Gaza beachfront properties. Bibi needs wars to stay in power. Trump would not only back Israel, they would back Israel’s current genocidal leadership specifically.

Trump’s opinion on Gaza is to let Israel “finish the job”.

To be honest, I’m with Iran here. They don’t want a war with Israel. They especially don’t want a war with a US backed Israel. They are an oppressive regime, sure, but at least they are trying to be a peaceful one right now.

I imagine not much if you are not a tomato plant.
