Wow, those pictures are good. Thanks for introducing me to this painter, OP.

The reflection in the middle kinda looks like Donald Trump. Scary.
I worry! Every. Single. Day.
I worry about my social media addiction, about the fact that I’ve read once books like a maniac, but hardly read any books at all now. I worry about Fake News and racists on the internet and about ignorance on the streets and fascists in the government. I worry about hot summers and warm winters. I worry about the future of my young nephews. I’m worried about war. I’m worried for the world and thus for the whole of humanity.
I’m fine! My life is good. I don’t have panic attacks. But there is always this slight worry in my mind and if I think about it, it gets bigger.
Others recommend a social media detox. That’s a start. Chill a bit. Relax. Enjoy the spring. Maybe learn a new thing, get a new hobby, like cycling or cooking. And then maybe, start doing something about the things you can change. I’ve learned a new phrase this week, it’s „productive restlessness“. You can’t do anything about world war 3, but maybe you can change other things.
And please, don’t allow others to take advantage over you, using your fear. Don’t buy a nuclear bunker for your garden if you can’t afford it, please don’t start believing in crazy conspiracy myths and tell the tankies to go to hell, when they try to tell you that you should vote for trump if you want peace.
A fellow worrier.
Hey bro, you are aware of US Politics, right? You know that the US has always supported Israel, right???
Dude! Dude!!!
Are you trying to tell that it’s actually „your an idiot“???
AHAAAHAAHAAAAA!!!
I feel like I’m surrounded by idiots.
Congratulations. You have simplified complex politics too such a degree that it fits in your narrative. First off, I don’t vote in this case, because I’m not American. Second, I still would vote for the person who didn’t try a fucking insurrection.
I do it. Tastes great! I also add a bit of milk and others use a bit of fish sauce as a secret ingredient.
By the way, there is a !thinkpad@lemmy.ml community. Feel free to post there, we need content here on Lemmy. ;)
Got this mail too, a few weeks ago. I used this opportunity to delete my long dormant twitter account for good.
There were actual listening stations with headphones here in Germany at certain media chains. Some people spent whole afternoons in there.
But yeah, the opposite did exist. I remember, when I was a teenager friends got a dozen or more CDs for their birthday. Good old 1998.
The 2000s were my favourite decade, from beginning to the end. I missed them as soon I realised they were over, which was probably around 2013, lol.
Interesting enough, I was far happier last decade, but compared to the 2000s the 10s were forgettable.
I remember buying my first mp3 player and years later my first iPod. It was so freeing waking through the city while listening to music that wasn’t on a clunky portable cd player. And the music was so great, from Indie Rock to Nelly Furtado.
The political climate was… interesting. But the post 9-11 terrorist-scare-years seem now somehow simpler then the political situation today.
And the internet was great! Pirate bay, tons of interesting blogs altogether with the beginning of YouTube. I loved it.
In my experience nostalgia for a decade arrives in society about 10 years after + a few more. But I‘m already here, waiting for it.
Yeah, the Fediverse is awesome!
Don’t forget, you can follow hashtags too! So if you want to see toots (posts) regarding a topic that interests you, just follow a hashtag like #ukrainewar, or #linux for example. That’s also a good way to to find people to follow.
Would be great if all those writers work together to bring the fuckers down.
And afterward found a reputable news site.
