They confused him with Jason Hickle
It doesn’t even reach the high bar of “I’m not racist because I have a black friend”
That was pretty funny
NYT was one of the worst Covid bullshitters
I made the mistake of commenting on an instagram post about those crisis pregnancy centers which do not provide medical care or protect privacy and it basically devolved into someone saying “there is no forced birth. Pregnancy leads to birth. It’s biology.”
This is the show that the street fight radio guy would just endlessly talk about when he made guest appearances on other podcasts. I was so bored of hearing him go on multiple shows and literally tell the same stories including the same rants about Yellowstone that I thought I was relistening to one on accident.
There are literal children arguing in those comments. That whole post is rage bait
I would thaw in the fridge overnight then heat up in the microwave.
You can freeze cooked beans in ziplocs or other containers
Lentils don’t even need pre soak and I can make them at the same time as my rice.
The corvette is better at it fording than the cybertruck https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a40195323/florida-corvette-driver-somehow-makes-it-through-flood-waters-up-to-windshield/
I wouldn’t read the book but the managed decline aspect is much more expounded on where film couldn’t fit it all in. The book has this feeling that all of society is in a midlife crisis with wealthy people basically indulging in esoteric hobbies and the government slowly withdrawing from cities as people die.
Extremely depressing and the novel ends with fascism being the only possible option during a crisis but it’s actually a good thing.
No idea but it seems trends of heat and flooding will probably continue. Medium term might see more movement away from coastal areas into the center and the north. Not sure how long this state can exist as a playground and tax haven for the wealthy when nothing is being with the infrastructure.
Walmart values my patronage so I don’t imagine they would arbitrarily raise prices simply because they can
I don’t know if they still do this but I understood that at some point retailers were using Bluetooth and WiFi sniffers to track shoppers throughout stores so combined with variable pricing they can extract ever more from each customer
While the labels give retailers the ability to increase prices suddenly, Gallino doubts companies like Walmart will take advantage of the technology in that way.
“To be honest, I don’t think that’s the underlying main driver of this,” Gallino said. “These are companies that tend to have a long-term relationship with their customers and I think the risk of frustrating them could be too risky, so I would be surprised if they try to do that.”
