I installed kubuntu 24.04 yesterday and everything worked flawlessly. Today if it would boot the touchpad didn’t. I reinstalled and it wouldn’t boot at all. Just a little bit ago I installed Ubuntu 24.04 and everything seemed fine until I installed KDE. Now it won’t boot.
Did you find a solution? Tomorrow I may install 22.04.
I just switched to bitwarded from keepass and love it!
Probably a dozen times before I pulled the trigger.
The laptop I’m replacing is 13 years old. I’m hopeful that the framework laptop last just as long or longer.
Thank you for the detailed post! I have a really old display link usb dock and an USB c lenovo dock for work that I may play with once I get my hands on the FW16.
As much as I don’t want my laptop to be delayed, I would rather wait and it be right.
I would hope not. Can you reseat the top cover?
I’m pretty new to the FW community. Is there a good spot to fine ideas and mods?
I’m about to pull the trigger on a FW16! I first found out about FW earlier this year but only the 13 was available then.
I’ve only gone back to reddit anonymously a few times for technical information or guides. I do miss it in some ways but I don’t miss how toxic it could be.
W!
This is why I left HP 15 years ago…
I just ran into a problem with the cheaper reolink cameras. I didn’t realize that some don’t support rtsp or ONVIF. I was able to solve this with a github project neolink: https://github.com/QuantumEntangledAndy/neolink In less than 10min I was able to install neolink and get my $30 reolink camera working with my NVR.
I’m using windows 10 because I need it for school. I plan to ditch windows on my main pc once I’m done in the spring.
Didn’t think about that! Thank you! Review left.
I’m here after leaving reddit for the api changes. This wasn’t easy since I had been on reddit to over a decade but I have no plans to go back. I can’t in good mind support a platform that doesn’t listen to it’s users/content creators. Plus I can’t stand the official app! RIF is the reddit app for me.
I was on the fence about joining lemmy.world or lemmy.one. As of today I’m glad I’m on lemmy.one I really hope that these growing pains end quickly.
I discovered today that one of the touchpad connections on the midplate is faulty. This morning the touchpad completely stopped working no matter the OS. I ended up moving the touchpad and I’m back in business. I’m currently on Ubuntu 22.04 and it seems to be stable. Hopefully FW will send me a replacement midplate.
