Weißkohl (no idea what it is called in English, I can only find the generic “cabbage” term) is disgusting and so are all its produce like Sauerkraut or Krautsalat. That shit makes me gag and vomit. I don’t know what it is about it but I absolutely despise it.

I could’ve lived with the nostalgia baiting if they didn’t write so many stupid RNG scenarios into the movie. Even the whole premise of a station coming out of nowhere, somehow somewhere flung out of orbit, somehow getting captured by their planet’s orbit, just to then be on an intercept trajectory with the ring. But the whole movie adds more and more, like the ship magically sliding along the station, just to crash land in the hangar, which btw, why did they not land there, especially since they could’ve never fit the cryo pots through the weird little maintenance shaft they came through. Or how utterly nonsensical the no gravity acid shootout was. In a no gravity environment, stuff isn’t just going to stop midair, or float in a circular pattern - it would’ve just splattered everywhere as soon as she started blasting them. It all felt just way too “cinema” for me. I can live with some unlikely but cool action scenarios but don’t chain the whole movie up with them.

Not that everything was bad though. I loved the visuals (except for the bad deep fake later on), the world building they did on the planet (which usually falls flat in the movies), and the acting was also very good. I think they approached the whole AI vs. human consciousness & creation aspect quite a bit better than Prometheus & Covenant did (although Covenant upped Prometheus for me a little bit when it came out).

This is simply novelty merch. Cassette Futurism was largely inspired by the first Alien movie in particular and Romulus is very much an attempt to go back to the roots of the first movie, hence all the analog equipment there. So this is just for die hard fans of the franchise and the design aesthetic it birthed.

The Breeze one seems to scale smoothly. I noticed because I switched to a different one, but then noticed how it got super pixelated, which made me switch back.

I have not played it yet and I still know that there’s two new companions, so I’d suggest to ignore this person’s opinion as they clearly went into it with a certain bias already.

My understanding is that “woke” is a loosely defined political term, so I think requesting Godot be kept free from politics in response to this stuff isn’t something that should require a ban.

I’m a bit 50/50 on that. If they got kinda harassed to the point where they take a simple stance as they did, then saying “please stop being political” is often used as a thin veiled attempt to say “I don’t like your politics” by the people who get so hard triggered by that term, and women, and LGBT stuff, and people of color, etc.

We can see this all the time in other areas too, especially gaming. As soon as a game has a female main character, or even a female main character that isn’t white, or even one that is lesbian or bi, then uppercase Gamers collectively lose their shit. Say something about Nazis? Or Russia? “HoW DaRe YoU BrInG PoLiTiCs InTo MY GaMes!” …

Not saying that was the guy’s intend when he replied that to Godot, but I can see how it could be interpreted as such when they get brigaded by a bunch of toxic replies.

If they’d backtrack on UPlay I’d probably actually buy the odd title again. But whatever. It’s likely never going to happen anyway.

I was thinking of doing a hard NG+ run at some point to complete the achievements, especially for when I can get a chance to play the sequel, but that wouldn’t even carry over to the remastered version. And if it comes with some stupid bullshit then they can really shove it up their asses anyway. I don’t know why Sony always has to ruin it, especially since the PC port track record was moderately decent too, sans some issues.

I’d very highly suggest not to use Russian anti-virus software, regardless which version we’re talking about.

It’s actually a fairly common symptom of migraines, along with the pressure pain on one eye, since migraines itself are also usually on one side of the brain (the pain can spread though).

I think me suffering from migraines also makes me sensitive to certain light (flashes, specific colors like red light is really triggering, etc), somewhat similar to those with epilepsy, except that I don’t end up with a seizure.
