My vision didn’t start going downhill until my 40’s. I am also very sensitive about my eyes to the point I can barely even put drops in. So I have resigned myself to the fact that I will be a glasses wearer from here on out.

This is a great quote. I may have to borrow it.
Also Firewatch. I wish I could go back and play that game for the first time.
Two: my main on Lemmy.one and another on Reddthat.com which was the first account I created. I also have a kbin.social account. Really hedging my bets.
I don’t think 0.18 is officially out yet, is it?
Seems like they have plenty of money to spend on THESE enhancements.
I couldn’t agree more. Your statement is so pointed that I’m going to save it to refer to in the future.
I personally don’t think the API pricing was ever meant to be reasonable or cover their true costs. Between the absurd pricing, the short timing, their test that blocked mobile web browsers, and refusal to even negotiate, it’s clear to me that they just want to kill 3rd party apps and force everyone on mobile into the official mobile app where they can enforce their monetization schemes.
I guess I’m glad I picked Lemmy.one – the Switzerland of US-bases Lemmy instances :)
Knowing that Beehaw and Lemmy.ml were overloaded, I chose the next biggest one in my country at the time, which was Lemmy.one.
I’m worried the Fediverse is going to be an SEO nightmare though.
This is why I still cling to my trusty Samsung S10. Still has a headphone jack for my IEMs and a heart rate monitor.
It’s a known bug that is supposed to fixed in an upcoming update (maybe 0.18). There are a few other threads that have more details.
The refresh issue doesn’t seem to exist in the Jerboa app. Just pointing out that App users may not be able to search for previous threads as easily. I can’t tell if the iOS app Mlem has search, but the question of whether it has search has been asked multiple times and was mostly unanswered.
Keep in mind that the Android App, Jerboa, doesn’t have search functionality yet.
It’s his self-assuredness that bothers me most. If his attitude towards his community (or product rather) are this bad pre-IPO just wait until after and they have to keep announcing revenue growth to Wallstreet every quarter.
Looks like the fix is targeted for 0.18 when websockets are removed. I’m not sure this fix should wait that long though since this issue has both usabily and performance impacts.
Yeah, I’ll admit there is the excitement of having a new toy and figuring out how it all works. That takes away some of the boredom or time I’d be scrolling reddit.
Yeah, same here. Lemmy sort of scratches the itch, but it’s a big itch.
I prefer Squiggy
