  • I’m not well versed in what is happening at specific campuses across the US - but if people not associated with the school (anyone not current students/Alumni) are protesting on Private property, the school is well within their rights to have trespassers removed.

Students should be allowed to peacefully protest on school grounds, or they can join non students protest that is off campus.

I’m not sure what the answer to Israel//Palestine is, but the US is absolutely directly funding and assisting in a genocide while publicly almost maybe finger wagging Netanyahu.

I would love to see North Americans actually tuck in to protest and figure out how to actually make them work. There’s so much that needs to change but never will until actual consequences come for those responsible.

Maybe if you’re on shrooms or LSD, yeah “it’s all the same if you use what they make maaaaaaan”

But only if you ignore the power dynamics behind wealth, and aren’t aware of the concepts of bribery, temptation, and unlimited influence.

Or the fact that people want greener options but they are intentionally unavailable, sabotaged, prohibitively expensive (but never subsidized), or publicly demonized in media with disinformation and propaganda.

Between consumers and corporations, only one gets to call all the shots

  • I haven’t played Baldur’s Gate 3, but the game seems to have done quite well by being a well thought out and executed game.

I tend to avoid advertising as much as possible, so I mostly hear about stuff through Lemmy/reddit and have no idea if there was a massive budget for commercials, events, billboards etc etc.

BG3 was everywhere, not because of advertising, but because people genuinely loved the game and wanted to talk about the game - which makes people interested in looking into the game. Spending tens of millions of dollars trying to make something look enticing is the fastest way to make me think your game wasn’t properly cooked.

It’s pretty rare that a really good game/movie slips through the cracks, not saying that these companies shouldn’t advertise - but a quality product will end up advertising itself through word of mouth.

Would be pretty interesting to see what kind of games companies would produce if most of the marketing budgets were largely spent on improving game quality, playability, and experiences instead.

  • The best way to tell if it’s a false flag operation is to see how much this event will be spread in the Russian media.

They’ve lost tons of equipment and had bombings deep in Russian territory, mostly affecting their oil production which could be perceived locally as Russian military inferiority.

So when this starts being on blast for every channel and frequency - you can be sure it’s a false flag.

If they bury this like any other Russian military failing, then it’s probably real.

Edit: ISIS claims responsibility, but Russia is still trying to blame Ukraine, which is kind of a false flag?

If you haven’t tried the Enzyme supplement Fodzyme I can’t recommend it enough.

Ever since I started using it I can (mostly) freely eat foods with garlic and onions as well as a host of other things.

It doesn’t work on everything, but I have been ordering it since April and I am no longer reading every label on everything to avoid being sick.

Everyone is different so there’s no guarantees on what will work for you, but I’ve been telling everyone about it (mostly because people always ask what I’m sprinkling on nearly everything I eat).

I get the brown jar because the individual pouches are a rip off, but it’s less of an investment if you want to try!

  • I mean, they kind of already do that.

All the taxes I manage to evade (buying/selling a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff from Kijiji/marketplace) wouldn’t really affect me.

But scraping hedge funds and professional tax dodgers would put a ton of cash into public funds, so I’m all for it.

Kind of hate that slippery slope argument of yours “if they can take millions from greedy billionaires, imagine how many millions they’ll take from you!” is a shit argument that defends serious tax evasion.

First they came for the billionaires, and I did nothing, ‘cause fuck em’ that’s why.
