You know, I should buy a spare. Thanks for the idea

Literally why I’m still sitting here on my Pixel 5.
In the past, manufacturers seem to “innovate” every few years and reinvent the small form factor phone. I’m waiting, hoping we see that trend breaking again soon.

That’s incredible
This is a painting? The texture on that fabric is perfect

The onshore tax havens Delaware, Wyoming, and Nevada are vastly worse in scope than any offshore country. They push the narrative about those “terrible foreign countries” to distract us from this fact.
The problem is US tax code, not offshore financial centers.
Sign out, sign back in on Boost, also works fine after that
As a Registered Nurse who is receiving actually successful medical treatments for ME/CFS from a big Boston hospital, thank you for sharing this.
Yes, Massachusetts. I have a dual fuel heat pump with natural gas backup installed in 2020, so it’s a newer system. And I have one heat pump mini split in the least energy efficient, but most used room in my house (large, high ceilings, exterior walls on three sides, and a skylight).
The first couple of years I noticed when it got just below freezing, the central heat pump seemed to struggle to keep up. Then this year I replaced my windows and got new wall insulation in both of the main bedrooms and bathrooms (previous insulation was original from the 1960s and shredded to bits with huge gaps.)
After those improvements, I’ve been running my heat pump down to 20⁰F/-7⁰C so far without any issues at all. I’m excited to see how cold we can get and this system still keep up. I am still supplementing my one large room with the mini split, but that’s mostly because all my plants are in here, so I keep this room warmer than 68⁰F/20⁰C.
I’d miss you guys. I’ve jumped in on conversations on your instance a couple of times and it always seems like a nice place
Not true really. Wayfair is just a drop shipping company, in a similar vein as Amazon. Except with actual customer service. You can search specifically for solid wood furniture, so you don’t end up with cheap MDF toy furniture, their reviews are accurate and not gamed, and their search has robust filtering so you can drill down and find exactly what you want. I buy a lot of shit from Wayfair that is definitely better quality than Ikea.
That doesn’t mean their CEO isn’t a labor abusing bag of dicks. I still think they should unionize.
I went to great lengths to get my family group chat migrated from FB Messenger over to WhatsApp, and then Meta bought WhatsApp. I’m doomed. I’ll never get these Americans to transition to something like Signal
I have neighbors who got a one story tall inflatable dragon for Halloween last year and just left it up until Christmas. It was so popular that this year they have an entire yard full of Christmas dragons. I love it.
I completely disagree with the sentiment here. My 40s have been great because they marked the point in my life when I finally lost my last fuck to give.
The freedom that provides is worth not being able to drink the way I used to in my 30s. Enjoy that achievement.
Ok this is great though
I’m one of these patients. I was successfully treated for an autoimmune brain condition of some sort. To this day, none of our clinical testing has ever showed any abnormality. I was treated based on detailed medical history and my insistence that my self-reported symptoms be taken seriously.
It took months to find a physician willing to treat me, and I still to this day don’t understand what they were so afraid of. My self-reports of symptoms, patterns of exacerbations, and positive response to corticosteroids were consistent and unequivocal.
I was in nursing school at the time, and I don’t know if that helped or hindered me. But I finally figured out how to speak the language that my physicians could understand, even though I was the patient. That shouldn’t be necessary.
My friend, ongoing ignorance IS malice. I’m sorry to be the one to break this to you, but your family are just plain old racist.
(I say that as a person from a family full of very friendly, very racist people.)
Glad I’m not the only one who has witnessed this insane behavior. I made the mistake of leaving a grocery bag with bread on the floor once and only once. My youngest cat went ape shit and I came back into the room to a bread massacre right through the plastic bag.
I have zero idea what drives this
Oh, we have lots of those! There are some drugs that we use to treat high blood pressure work by causing vasodilation.
What’s really interesting about this new drug is:
“…iloprost is not only a vasodilator but also reduces oxidative stress, suggesting this dual mechanism of action could help explain its impressive potential as a frostbite treatment.”
It not only dilates blood vessels, it also directly treats reperfusion injury, which is really neat.
