I hope so, or else I might have to have some words with Joe
I’ve owned both a Miata and an MR2 before middle age, and they’re both fun little cars that are decently cheap, economical, and reliable. But neither are very fast, practical, or safe. Sort of a compromise between a motorcycle and a sedan.
We did an episode about leaded gasoline. It’s much worse than I realized before doing the research: https://rss.com/podcasts/carsandcomrades/352764/
The Dollop episode about Midgley is also worth a listen: https://youtu.be/dPATHBg5-zw
I can produce our podcast (we’re going to have a podcast, right?) and help maintain our fleet of bicycles. Possibly trains and/or tanks too, as needed.
When I made the account I thought that my podcast co-hosts might post on here too, but it’s ended up being mostly just me. So in this case “them” is plural.
This is what Tesla calls Gigacasting. It’s just a bigger version of die casting, with higher pressures and other tweaks to make sure the mold fills up completely before the aluminum solidifies. Lots of auto makers are using similar technology today because it speeds up the production process and can make cars lighter. But it also means that the car chassis is basically impossible to repair after a crash.

Guys that drive lifted diesel pickup trucks, especially if they’re “rolling coal,” ie intentionally making the engine run worse so it spews black smoke. In my experience there’s a lot of overlap with gym bros and dudes with gross beards that chew tobacco and have multiple DUIs.
In this episode, we analyze the iconic 1977 film “Smokey and the Bandit” with the hosts of Cars and Comrades. We share our personal connections to the movie, discussing how it shaped our views on truck driving and outlaw culture, particularly through Brandon’s experience. The conversation revolves around the Bandit’s wild quest to transport Coors beer and critiques the comedic representation of law enforcement, exemplified by Sheriff Buford T. Justice. We delve into the film’s themes of working-class solidarity and anti-authoritarianism, highlighting the camaraderie among truckers and the Bandit’s folk hero status. Our analysis also touches on the humor, improvised dialogue, and gender roles, particularly through Sally Field’s character. As we reflect on the film’s lasting legacy, we share personal ratings and recommendations, reiterating its significance for car enthusiasts and fans of classic comedy, all while reinforcing our mission to explore car culture from a leftist perspective.

I have an electric gender so the fluid is technically meant to last a lifetime, but you should at least question it every 100,000 miles, and change it if signs of breakdown are present.

I’ve also seen a version of this that uses an electric locomotive that moves a big weight up and down a slope.
Personally I think we should put big weights on pulleys in every high rise, like a grandfather clock.
Yeah I don’t know why I said that, I know many lovely people who live in PA. Maybe I shouldn’t be be posting while drinking.
