Ah yes, another casus belli for the generation war. The whole concept of generalizing an entire cohort of humanity is bogus. Just another nonsense distraction to generate a bunch of clickbait bullshit articles, and get people angry at the young or the old, instead of the rich. No war but the class war.

Edit: Not really directed at you, OP.

  • You’re really proving their point here. You’re starting with the false assumption that both sides have good ideas, and the best solution must be somewhere in the middle. If one side’s platform is based entirely on lies, this is an idiotic position to take. It’s an ideology for privileged autofellatio enthusiasts who haven’t bothered to really figure out what’s going on, because it’s much easier to just pretend you’re the smart one, and everyone’s getting upset over nothing.

  • I picked up “Yakuza 0” on sale not too long ago, and I’m enjoying it so much that I picked up the rest of the remastered series while it was on sale. Based on how long I’m spending mucking around in the first one, It may take me the rest of my life to get through them all. I don’t know how “Like a Dragon” compares to the earlier games, but I really enjoy the narrative, combat, sub-stories, and mini-games in “0”.

As an aside, I really enjoy a well-done pool mini-game. I probably spent more time playing pool in the various space stations in “Rebel Galaxy Outlaw” than doing anything else. Likewise, Kiryu spends a lot of time in the pool hall, as well as hanging around the batting cages, and fine-tuning his pocket racers.

  • That’s what bugged me about this meme: as @Turun@feddit.de points out above, you’d have to travel billions of years into the past in order to wind up that far away. Nobody using a time machine would have any reason to do that, unless it was part of some fiendish plot against humanity, à la the Temporal Cold War from Star Trek: Enterprise. We should all demand more accuracy in our science memes.

  • Thank you for the correction, I remember reading about the Epic exclusivity now. I look forward to picking it up when it goes on sale! Such is my way. I knew there was a solid Star Trek Stellaris scene, but I’m just a dabbler in 4x games. My favorite Trek games are probably A Final Unity and the Interplay TOS adventures from 30 years ago.

Edited to add, Bridge Crew is moderately fun as a single player game. Would probably be a blast with a group of friends.

That part didn’t make sense to me, either, but my brain kind of elided it until I saw these comments. You’re right, it’s gotta be a genie that was created by a wish with a monkey’s paw. That brings up another question: do monkeys even have paws? A quick search indicates that they have, as I suspected, hands and feet! I blame W.W. Jacobs for this. Did the guy ever even see a monkey? I’m finding this hard to establish.

    Further bulletins as events warrant.

  • I generally agree with your stance regarding humor with a victim. Stupid and regressive. Caveman stuff. I don’t know if that precisely applies here, although I don’t see any humor in the comic either. Maybe that wasn’t the intent ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
