If you’re using it to browse webpages on the clearnet then yes, it’s slower, because that’s not the use-case for i2p. I’ve seen speeds around 1MBit/s which isn’t lightning fast, but also not terrible for an anonymous network.
That’s because you’re using it for a purpose it wasn’t intended. I2P isn’t designed to be used to browse the regular internet, for that it’s better to use TOR. However for anonymous torrenting or accessing i2p-sites, it’s quite fast imho.
Is it much slower though? I know it was, but is it still true? I get decent speeds on my torrents.
I might be too dumb for jellyfin, but how do I install the jellyseerr plugin?
Take StreetComplete with you when you’re out and do pokemon-style quests while at the same time improve the map of the area you’re in.
It’s very fun and quite addictive, and the data you’re providing is open source so it’s not free labour for some huge company.
OpenStreetmap as an alternative to the closed source maps.
OrganicMaps or OsmAnd to navigate and StreetComplete or EveryDoor to improve it.
I’m using StreetComplete to contribute to OpenStreetmap almost daily.
Does that count?
I absolutely would, or my wife would be very annoyed with me.
Also I’d have a stern talk with said 20- something as (s)he’d have no business in my bed in the first place.
Compiled my own kernel way back when and decided that network support wasn’t really needed, on a computer locked away in a room to which I didn’t have access, late one evening with nobody else around to unlock it.
Also deleting the whole /boot folder to see if I could fix it.
Time or money?
Time to openstreetmap, i2p, Wikipedia and others. Money to KDE, UN, Amnesty, and others.
Is there any waze alternative based on openstreetmap?
It was a fork off the Netscape Navigator which included a news reader, an email client, a browser and a kitchen sink, from what I remember. They took the browser part out and created Firefox, but it was called something else at first. Firebird maybe? Can’t recall.
I’m not saying just the CEO, but the whole structure. Look at the kids from Stranger Things for example. Any of them over 20 yet? If they never work another day in their life they still enjoy a life unattainable to almost everyone. Good for them I suppose, but it’s that really how a society should be? And there are a lot of people behind the scenes that we don’t see that makes an enormous amount of cash while most don’t. There should be a more equal distribution.
Not saying that you shouldn’t pay people, but the CEO of netflix makes over $50M a year. Actors make how much? I’m sure there are a lot of ways to cut costs and make a more equal society to boot.
It’s basically your entry point into the fediverse. You can still read and comment on other instances, as long as your instance is playing nice with others.
You can even set up your own and connect boost to that if you like. You’ll still be part of the bigger 'verse.
Whomever named them NFTs instead of grift cards missed an opportunity.
Registered in 2018 for reasons I can’t remember but didn’t do much. Then about 2 weeks ago someone told me about StreetComplete and I haven’t been able to stop contributing since.
Are there other such good apps that can assist in contributing to OSM?
Waze is google these days. They bought it some time ago.
