I’m 40 and the amount of people who kinda know what a IRA is is terrifying. Like, you’re gonna die in poverty.

a lot of people in agreement that the truth was out there, but bitterly divided as to what it might actually be.

This has been my take.

They’re not there for the truth. They’re there for validation.

This was highly effective when I used it in real life.

The conspiracy theorist got real mad demanding I name sources, I kept telling him to find it on the internet with fake search terms.

That was what I thought five years ago. I was on the verge of removing it, and the android Facebook app killed my phone’s battery, so delete it went.

And suddenly all my family drama stopped and if someone needs to get in touch with me, how surprising that they still found a way.

I was at a tech conference job fair and chatting with a bunch of former game programmers.

I absolutely messed up when I asked one guy who worked on a famous game why they decided to do X feature, and if that was the reason for the game’s failure.

He looked me in the eyes and said something like, “I get orders from the business execs. So even if their ideas are obviously bad, if I don’t do it, I get replaced. After the game is released, good or bad, I get replaced. If the game doesn’t even get enough funding, I get replaced.”

Gaming industry seems so toxic.

I forget who the author was but they said something along the lines of writing is fighting the urge to fix that weird spot on your shoe.

I switched to Linux a few years ago and you are not wrong.

Windows is a nightmare with directory organization.

I kinda agree and disagree.

I agree that some games do deserve time. Rockstar games have extremely long tutorials.

But for a free to play game? An hour is plenty of time to know if you like the shooting and movement.

There’s too many good games out there.

I probably didnt play it right because for some reason, people LOVE Warframe.

I tried it for an hour and found it really boring.

Spent most the hour learning how to run in the game. Then it threw me in a mission with two other actual players, and I couldn’t remember how to do half the actions. So as I was quitting, the other players were yelling at me not to.

I was recommended it after being bored with Destiny 2, and felt I came in with the wrong misconceptions.
