  • Reading the article I’m not sure why I should t use ZFS on a boot drive. The author does, and was able to set up a nice incremental (encrypted) backup solution that was able to get them back up and running relatively quickly.

Only thing I can think is the manual nature of it maybe? I don’t see how btrfs would be better here based on the article unless I missed something perhaps?

  • We need to start poisoning this data. I don’t think the solution is to cut the wires, I think it’s to send bogus data. Just make it so that no matter how I drive, the data is always overwritten that I traveled 5 miles at 30mph average with no hard stops and no hard accelerations. I only ever make that trip. Wanna base my insurance off that? Go for it.

Anyways I lack the technical ability to do this, but wonder if some enterprising person could hack the obd to constantly overwrite the data here.

Again I want to poison this data. It should be illegal, but it’s not. Companies will charge me more if I block it. So the solution is data poisoning imo.

Incidentally we need to be poisoning ALL data brokers and collectors for these types of things.

I always understood it to be that things exist to be fruitful and multiply. In a sense, a person who does not love, who doesn’t multiply goodness in the world as Jesus modeled, was like the fig tree. Such things could be thought of as cursed, withered and twisted versions of what they could and should be.

I am not a Bible scholar though lol.

  • Certainly a possibility, but I almost think US quietly supporting Ukraine will make it easier, since it won’t be in the far right zeitgeist as much. Ukraine needs financial and military support. Passing bills individually for Ukraine is getting harder. Tacking another line item on to a “Support Israel” bill that provides military and financial assistance to Ukraine may be easier than new bills aimed at just supporting Ukraine would be.

Edit: to be clear, I’m hoping Ukraine gets more support from this, as my personal view is strongly in support of Ukraine. I don’t know that this will pan out that way, but I see a potential angle for it if democrats have the savvy to do it.

  • I think if they were involved it will backfire on them. The reality is it is now going to be a lot easier, and the military-industrial complex is extremely eager, to put aid for Israel as a joint package in aid with Ukraine. Net result may be that aid is enhanced for both nations.

Edit: that said they do want Iranian drones. I could see them supporting it from that perspective and also happy to run their misinformation campaigns for them to dry and drive a wedge.

  • For what it’s worth when I purchased an extruder upgrade I had to get a new motor. The motor on my Ender 3 pro had a press fit gear on the motor arm and it was too short to fit the dual gear extruder (I did manage to get the press fit off only to realize the arm was too short).

If you’re able to order from Amazon, or a similar store with a decent return or exchange policy, I’d just get what you think you will need and return or exchange as necessary.

  • It seems to be coming predominantly from the hot end / extruder assembly. I have seen that various folks have resonance issues on this printer, so I’ll see if I can track down any more of those fixes. I did try the side panels off, loosen one of the screws, move the head around, retighten the screw thing, but that doesn’t seem to have made any difference. So I guess the gantry is square but something is causing resonance in the print head.

I can’t believe it would be the extruder, but I am a little curious about it since it also seems to have some odd extrusion effects (essentially like what I’d imagine it would look like when you “skip” over a surface by dragging something along; little splots, then thin, then little splots, but almost imperceptible due to the very high frequency of the micro stutters — first layers look almost flawless too so not really sure what the deal is).

  • Also, I am planning on purchasing some more hyper PLA to see if I can observe the same buzzing with that filament. I can’t imagine the filament type would cause the buzzing, but strange things do happen. Will report back here with any findings on that, but if anyone else has any thoughts in the meantime on this buzzing, I’m very keen to hear them!

  • Wait so your argument is that because we lag good ideas elsewhere they must not be good ideas? So by definition a place like South Africa should never have abolished apartheid because obviously if their people wanted it then they would’ve done it within 3 years of the first abolishment of such a system?

If someone wants to put it on a ballot, let them put it on a ballot and decide. If the will of the people is that their privacy is worth more than a companies bottom line, that is the choice of the people.
