I was wondering how come they were giving away Elden Ring for free… :)

This is a solid trading spacesim type game. It’s not out of this world, but it’s fun enough.

I am curious if that would be possible.

Generally speaking economic strategy games (tycoon, city-builder, business sims) are a bad fit for the roguelike model; the “core” fans of the genre generally towards enjoying complexity and deep simulation and strategy development.

That being said, Against the Storm was able to make an excellent roguelike fantasy city-builder, so perhaps a tycoon game would work too.

Depends on the game, for RPGs I tend to agree.

For strategy games (that are sandbox based), sometimes achievement hunting can allow you try novel approaches.

Been meaning to try this game. Might as well get it on Epic (which thankfully supports all regions).

That being said, I’ve only made one purchase, an early version of Against The Storm from way back in the day.

Grand Theft Horse is so much cooler sounding than Rustler!

Haven’t tried it myself, but it does look like it has goal-based elements (or you can make your own).

Something along the line of visit different well known parts of the moon.

I actually haven’t tried this yet, but as a Civilization fan and based on the screenshots (lot’s of depth and Win32 UI is a nice touch) this looks enticing.

It was made with VisualBasic, the developer wanted to make a sequel, but he realized VisualBasic was depreciated.

Just sharing another perspective;

I specifically have been moving from Lemmy to Piefed because I have issues with the tankie Lemmy devs.

Some people appreciate that the main Piefed instance blocks authoritarian far-left instances.
