I actually thought that scene was a missed opportunity to inject a Klingon operatic bit!

Is that a situation where you can write up your analysis, report the number as correct… and start getting cited in place of the paper with broken attributions?
For a Supers game, I’ve been wanting to play a dragon - just start the game with a chunk of the downtown business district for my hoard, run it with enlightened self-interest (high wages, free healthcare, etc), and go after any supervillains that might threaten my modern “hoard” (which might include the people!)
The idea is that he’d be trying to transition himself from an avatar of fear and flame into something humanity might celebrate, or even venerate - after all, he’s seen that humanity tends to wipe out things that terrify it!
I’ve been enjoying Starforged since it came out. The PDFs are available of course, but it sounds like they’re also getting another reprint here in a month or two.
To speak more to the point - Geordi is asked by his doctor a few times (by different doctors) why he didn’t upgrade to a more modern prosthetic. He preferred the visor.
Eventually, in the movies, he did switch - presumably his new implants finally had feature parity with the visor. Or he got tired of the visor popping off…
Even knowing what it was supposed to be, I couldn’t see it until I happened to scroll by on my phone…
You know, your question sparked a little realization for me - I like some of the newer series quite a bit more than some others; but I love that we’re getting such a wide variety of directions and perspectives on the themes behind Star Trek!
Even a properly made blank can cause serious injury.
They only like the 2nd when they agree with you! Remember the Black Panthers?
Conservatives here have picked unborn children as a group they can ostentatiously “protect”. It’s a particularly useful group for them, as the unborn have no ability to declare, “If you want to help us, SUPPORT OUR MOTHERS!”
So, conservatives get to feel righteous, while their leaders manipulate them with this crusade to further their own ends.
They’re not, but a lot of their positions are justified by other things that sit right next to what Hazdaz listed.
Leaving aside for the moment the free speech issues inherent here… if you want to control what someone does with a book after you sell it? You can’t sell it. Lend it, rent it, whatever; but if it’s sold, you’ve given up all right to determine what happens with it.
Don’t want to invest in the infrastructure to do that? Then is it really that important to you?
You mentioned GURPS; did you just look at the default, spells-as-skills system? GURPS has four different magic systems that I can think of, most with better balance than the default. Ritual Path Magic is the one I see recommended most often.
If they want to play that game - the calendar date becomes part of the password. It’s never the same, but you can always work it out!
Exactly this. I want to normalize showing the password requirements when you don’t immediately get the password - if you made me jump through hoops the first time, at least remind me what they were!
For a fairly meaty swords and sorcery system, have you looked at Dungeon Fantasy RPG? It’s GURPS distilled down to just the bits relevant to this kind of setting; so it’ll definitely have the meat you’re after.
I don’t know that they’re false, but they’re misleading. Not only was it traffic for June, but the thing Spez will care about is advertising dollars - and as others have said, the more communities are flagged NSFW, the fewer ad spaces can be sold.
I’m only marginally familiar with Frostpunk as a genre - what sort of game is your friend looking for? Gritty apocalyptic survival with some settlement building aspects?
Ironsworn could be easily tweaked to fill that need, I think. I suspect Savage Worlds could too. I see a lot of suggestions at https://forum.rpg.net/index.php?threads/frostpunk-tabletop-system-recommendations.858901/ too.
If I may ask, why is GURPS not desirable? I know it has a few supplements for exactly this; including character templates to simplify chargen.
These sound awesome! My players would love these!
Hah, my first time, I had one of the bandits yell “Sammy!” to another, a name I just grabbed on impulse. Sammy was also one of the PC’s names…
