Is there a movie you think really nails the book, or maybe even improves on it? Is there anything you were shocked to learn was based on a book?
My roommate recently read Jaws and he said he can’t believe it was made into a movie, and I attempted to read the first book in the Dexter series and felt the same way.
I mean it’s Game of Thrones for me. I absolutely adore that series of books, and whilst the final 10 episodes of Thrones absolutely sh*t the bed, I still adore the show, worts and all.
Only issue is that I’ve not read the books in a good 11 years (since the release of Dance), so a lot of my memory of them is bound to be somewhat skewed by what I witnessed in the show. I’m hoping to fix that soon with a re-read over the next year or two.
I was super glad to learn that “The Expanse” was adapted from a book series.
I love the show and it’s concept of hard sci-fi. The book (I have only read “Leviathan Wakes” but have the second book lying around here) is just as good and I definitely recommend both.
