Lia Walti and Noelle Maritz are heading to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup after being selected for Switzerland’s final 23-player squad.
This is Walti and Maritz’s second World Cup with Switzerland and only the second time the country has qualified for the tournament. Walti has captained her national team since 2019 and 98 senior caps to her name. Maritz, meanwhile, has represented Switzerland at a senior level since 2013 and has made 96 appearances.
Switzerland’s first test of the competition is on 21 July against the Philippines before they face co-hosts New Zealand and Frida Maanum’s Norway to finish up Group A.
