Very straightforward interview that covers FBI wrecking, surveillance and assassination tactics well in one conversation. I like it that they don’t imply that this is all in the past or some isolated thing either, but rather emphasize that it will only expand and intensify with time and that the agencies keep full on library sized collections of cultural info to be used against people, which they gather from embedding themselves and informants in cultural activities and discussion groups, in addition to doing stuff like having informants date people or relatives of people they want info on.

“They make in-depth studies of the personalities of the people they’re dealing with, too–culturally. It always helps. It’s the thing of–you can take their culture and use it against them.” (@6:59)

Also thought it was good how the discussion touched on the way that the FBI helps set up the right conditions for assassinations to happen or keeps track when they know one is brewing, and then use “innuendos” to make sure that the person would be killed, and that when they commit acts like arson they try to make sure it looks amateur enough to be blamed on randoms.
