For this reason I’m trying to book appointments and run errands in the morning in order to be productive the rest of the day.
I do this too, but thankfully I’ve also managed to break my day in half so it’s no longer “can’t do anything all day” but “can’t do anything else this morning until this” and “can’t do anything after lunch until this”.
This is why I like working early in the morning. I can roll out of bed and start my day as soon as my feet hit the ground if there’s no down time. On my days off, the things that don’t need doing immediately likely won’t be considered before 10am despite getting up at 5.
This was the only way I could get essays done when studying, get out of bed at 5 and start immediately - nothing to distract. Now I have children I have to get up at 5 every morning so I can never study again 😭
huh, i honestly didn’t know this was an ADHD issue.
Same with waiting for a package to be delivered to my door. It says it will come between 12 and 14 but I still feel restless from morning until I hear the door bell and I won’t leave home or do anything that I can’t cast aside right away
My package deliveries usually say something crazy like ‘between 9 and 16’ and… There goes the day.
Ooof i feel you, that happens with one particular company for me too. So far have they always come around 15 but what if that isn’t the case next time?
My mix of ADHD and anxiety always got me arriving way too early to appointments 😂
It might also be an autism thing. I don’t have ADHD and I do this. I have to make my appointments as early as possible or my whole day is gone to freaking out about having to go out, whatever the appointment is about, etc.
This is an ADHD thing? Oh, I guess I learnt something about myself :(
“Waiting mode” is a real energy killer for sure.
It is an adhd thing, but it also depends on intensity. Some people with adhd have a worser case of this behavior than others.
