I am theoretically switching over from Reddit to Lemmy. Finding myself spending more time on Lemmy than on Reddit. Maybe it’s because I am limited to using the desktop and can’t aimlessly browse Reddit on my iPhone. Of late, the only subreddits I cared for were on sports and their matchday threads and r/watches. I found myself aimlessly browsing through r/AskReddit and asking and answering pointless questions.
Can I ask you why you created two accounts? Is it necessary? I’m new here so I’m still figuring things out
Shouldn’t be necessary at all, you can even participate with mastodon-accounts
But why do some people do it? Any specific benefit?
There is the case that instances can get defederated from others. So if you wajt to see posts in both than you would need two accounts.
And there is obviously the concept of anonymity and burner-accounts.
Other than that not much benefit comes to my mind really
