Hello everyone. Im looking for a simple system that can be played by something like 3-5 people, which is simple enough to be played by an 11 year old. My sister is in her Harry Potter phase so magic and fantasy wizard setting is really helpful. I need it to be simple enough where I can teach it to my family in a night, and we can get right into whatever story I end up DMing (for the first time) for them. I really want to spend some time with my sister over the summer engaging her imagination.

Suggestions please :D

Edit: you people are wonderful, I’ll check all your suggestions out for sure!

There’s a couple intentionally for-kids games, but 11 might be too old for them!

    • Hero Kids: Actually a little crunchier than I’d want to give very small kids.
    • First Fable: Nice dice pool system, but only 4 very fixed character types.

    And some very simple RPGs:

    • Bean! d2: This is pretty nice, just needs a bunch of beans or coins to flip, has a good selection of spells. There’s maybe a dozen adventures for it.
    • Maze Rats, Knave: Simplified actual OSR games. Run pretty much any classic D&D adventure.
    • Advanced Fighting Fantasy: Not actually advanced, just the non-solo version of the gamebooks. Very quick to make characters, has a bunch of adventure books.
