Kyle Walker is in talks to leave Manchester City for Bayern Munich.
The deal is not yet complete and there remains work to be done but the expectation is that the England international will leave the Premier League champions following their treble-winning season.
The fee between the two clubs is yet to be agreed but isn’t expected to be an issue.
The Athletic reported on Thursday that there was a high chance Walker — along with fellow full-back Joao Cancelo — would leave City this summer, with the 33-year-old unhappy with his minutes across the 2022-23 season.
Despite winning back...
Walker is wanted by both sides (City would probably not mind keeping him but would also be happy with letting him go out of respect), whereas Cancelo is not wanted by City and Bayern doesn’t want to pay the fee that City wants.
While he has made it known that he isn’t happy with his reduced minutes, Walker has got his head down and stepped up when Pep needed him. Cancelo on the other hand, has kicked up so much fuss to the point where he doesn’t have a future at City after being the defender that played the most. Pretty different situations here I would say.
Is this gonna be another cancelo move for Bayern?
