I was trying to navigate to some remote communities on lemmynsfw.com through lemmy.world.
I know that lemmynsfw is on the instances list for lemmyworld, but I can’t reach some communites when I type in lemmy.world/c/{communityname}
I get a 404 community not found error.
Is this because the community on the remote instance isn’t set to be shared to other instances or something? Or is it a bug?
I’m marking this post NSFW just in case, because it does link to a NSFW lemmy instance.
Lol Lemmy just replaced the page I was commenting on with this post, that was wild.
If you’re encountering 404s, try pasting the URL into the search field and waiting a second. Browsing to the URL directly only works with communities the server already knows about.
I was really confused for a second! It looks like the comment above yours may have been the same thing.
Thanks! I’ll try that out.
Edit: That worked! Thanks.
Yeah, that was a funny one. I’ve only seen it happen once or twice but this was the first time it happend while I was typing. I sure hope this bug gets fixed, imagine if this happens with an NSFW post.
Re: NSFW, note that your account activity on here will show the NSFW stuff as well. I don’t know if that’s against your server’s rules but it may be worth looking into.
Oh good to know. I don’t think that will be an issue since the instance I’m signed up with allows NSFW/Pornographic content. I definitely see how that could cause issues elsewhere though.
My things are landscape photograph,Ev stuff and guitars where do I post my content?
Heads up, this may not be where you meant your comment to go. @skullgiver had the same thing happen I think.
I cant even tell where here is !?!
