I was told there were no stupid questions.

Okay but this screenshot is hilarious and “mod abuse rule” would pull serious numbers on 196

The reason I removed your post is because it broke rule #1 of our community (as I noted, and you show in the screenshot).

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

As someone else has stated, I’m just enforcing the rules, just like I’d hope you would do here in this community that you mod. Honestly I’m a bit surprised you even posted this here, you should understand enforcing your community rules.

This comment is riding a fine line of breaking rule 1 of this community:

      I demand to be entertained

But I’m an understanding guy, and I do believe that being a moderator doesn’t mean you have to check your sense of humor at the door, or become an extension of your report queue.

  • “It’s meant for questions you really want the answers to but may be embarassed about asking, not this stupid bullshit.”

“But… I really wanna know the answer and I was embarassed because it’s stupid bullshit. 🥺”

Personally, I kinda hate subs/communities with asinine double standards like that. The question itself may actually be stupid, but that’s not even the point of the sub so removing it for being a “stupid question” still doesn’t make any fucking sense unless the name “no stupid questions” is meant to be literal and taken as a rule of itself.

Let me ask you a stupid question: if the rules are available for you to read before you post, and you ignore them for whatever reason, is it really mod abuse when the mods enforce the rules?

No one likes having content removed. It feels shitty. But you have no one to blame but yourself on this one.

Hello Officer Boring, the point is that yall take moding lemmy way to fucking seriously as if your life fucking depends on it and to where lemny is no fun. I mean, that’s kind of ridiculous.

Like 99% of ppl on the planet don’t even know this site exist nor do they care.

The audience is so tiny here, it’s almost like mods and admins do shit like this for self gratification. Because there aren’t like thousands of ppl complaining about posts and content in your communities. You just personally don’t like it and are on some weird ass internet power trip.

That post was honestly original and the best I’ve seen in a while. NSQ community here, most if not all the posts are Luke warm boring uninteresting diarrhea.

It’s nostupidquestions, so rule one is legitimate questions only. Makes sense that the post was removed when it was posted to a serious q&a community.

Just because the question involved wordplay doesn’t mean the question wasn’t genuine. I was asking to elicit creative answers that might be better or enhance the gag.

There were a handful of commenters that understood the assignment before @L3s@lemmy.world did not, and removed it.
