From what I’ve seen from older posts, getting a dumb fan and making it smart seems to be preferable over getting anything that is sold as a “smart ceiling fan”. I also understand it’s preferable to get something without integrated lights / LEDs so you can bring your own bulbs to the party. I’ve seen Hunter and Minka Aire as some of the more popular brands.

Looking for confirmation of the above or other suggestions.
