This is based on a Breton folk song called “Son Ar Chistr”, or “Song of Cider”, in case you were unaware. Alan Stivell’s rendition in 1970 brought the song to international prominence; Oktoberklub’s German version came seven years later in 1977.
cool, thanks, I saw some mentions that it was based on an older folk song while searching for an official release year but not much detail, just this one tune has like 20 modern re-makes in various languages lol, the Alan Stivell version is good too, more actually traditional sounding, guess I need to get more into Folk overall
