part of me thinks this is one of those situations where an armed population would at least dissuade this kind of rampant impunity

try to pull a person out of a car. get a bullet to the dome.

at least the threat this may happen might make the rioters second guess

and since the police seem to be opting out and there’s no national guard to speak of and we know how adverse to threats the western right is

like even a loosely cobbled together armed popular front militia would probalbly be enough to keep these shits from burning down buildings full of asylum seekers

yes i know the it’s likely the full force of the state would be brought down on the people defending their city and populace but fuck sometimes i think i’d rather go out resisting with everything you got

sorry this shit makes me so mad i don’t know what the solution is besides general class war

Police aren’t hitting the riots but they’ve already started raiding homes of participants. Most of these shits are going to end up locked up.

Issue is though that the prisons are full so I don’t know how hard the courts will go.

They have an armed population in the US. The people most likely to be armed over there are the chuds. Guns has been used there in several far-right terrorist attacks and are routinely used to intimidate those targeted by the fascist.

I am not convinced that allowing random people to buy firearms reduces the likelihood of fascist terror. Where fascist thugs has successfully been chased out of towns and neighbours it has been as a result of organising rather than hardware, both broad big tent antifascist organising of the community and the formation of more dedicated antifascist community self-defense groups.

Yep, especially taking Britain as an example - before the war with Nazi Germany, the BUF was driven out by the anti-fascist communities organizing around disrupting their marches.

And the same as today, the fascists of back then always went " :smuglord: these people are taking away our rights to speech" everytime the community fought against them.
