    I can’t understand why some people are so consumed by fear and hate that they are willing to side with men who want them chained up inside or thrown in nunneries again

    They often already occupy a place of (relative) privilege within the social hiearchy of “gender classes” and such, it pays to punch down and maintain your position of privilege.
