    This is one of those things where I absolutely want the workers to protect themselves from AI exploitation, but I also very much want to see AI be a part of video games. It’s the one application where the novelty could be good.

    Like, I want to do escort missions with an LLM-powered AI NPC that I actually have to talk to and instruct using natural language, and who can engage in some degree of conversation. That level of immersion would be great.

    But whatever voice actor was used to train the text-to-speech AI should get paid properly, and that model should be restricted only for use in the game the actor was contracted for. If they want to reuse the model, they need a new contract with the actor for another game.

    None of this “we digitized you and can use your likeness for free forever” bullshit the industry thinks it can get away with.
