Unfortunately I had to do a completely new run of elden ring to make it to the dlc and had already put in about 100 hours.

Now that I’m in the dlc I’m about halfway through it and starting to get burnt out.

I can tell it’s really good. I think I’m just burnt out on Elden ring because it’s all I’ve been playing lately in an attempt to unlock the dlc

Tldr I wish I would have had my Xbox and my old character to jump straight into the dlc instead of starting over on ps5 and playing through nearly the entire base hame.

I had this exact same issue. For me, my solution was to go Bloodfiend’s Arm and not make every boss a struggle session, and work pretty quickly towards ending it. I’ll go much slower and deeper the next time I play it on NG+, probably next year.

Yeah it sucks because fromsoft is my favorite developer after Nintendo. I want to enjoy this and take it all in, but I’ve just had too much elden ring too fast and I’m ready to move on.

I honestly think I would have preferred a smaller more contained DLC Ala the ringed city or the old hunters.

I’m still going to give this an 8.5 I just don’t think it reaches the heights of those two.

Actually pretty strong disagreement here, larger expansions like Far Harbor, Shadow of the Erdtree, and Phantom Liberty can usually better explore new ideas and expand on the base game in a meaningful way IMO.
