Damn this hits hard, it’s so difficult to just organically meet like minded people irl because the only interaction most people have with “others” is passing by them on the way to work or running errands. Finding out about the rare niche hobby meetup online (and living in a densely populated enough area that they exist) is the only real opportunity to actually share what you enjoy with others
Being able to just hang out with a couple people that share a mutual hobby is nice. That’s how bad the alienation in America is.
