Thailand’s Senate has voted overwhelmingly to approve a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage, clearing the last legislative hurdle for the country to become the first in Southeast Asia to enact such a law.
This is really awesome and huge progress! My sister lived in Thailand for over 3 years, she loved it there. But she also got taught a trans slur about trans women and would routinely use it to refer to me while she was living there. That’s mainly a problem with my sister, but she was taught it by the culture over there. Hopefully, with this progress happening, there’s more progress with trans acceptance and not using slurs.
