You don’t need an LED. You can just plug in a buzzer and listen to the boot codes the proper 1980s way. There are more complicated ways of debugging like connecting up a serial terminal and such but for all home computing purposes a buzzer is enough

It just shows boot codes. The same can be achieved by a buzzer, an LED is just convenience
I’d rather get bankrupt than get an ear infection from an annoying buzzer.
