It’s that day of the week again! Share your shave of the day!

If you’re playing along with the Lather Games on that other website, the theme today is “April Showers Bring May Flowers”.

Product must be:
     - Explicitly marketed as a Spring scent OR
     - Explicitly marketed for a holiday occuring between Vernal Equinox and Summer Solstice OR
     - Prominently feature floral, grassy, or petrichor accords.
Caveat: Products explicitly marketed for multiple seasons or other seasons do not count (eg. ""summery lilac"").

    June 11, 2024

    • Brush: Wald Stratos Haunter 29mm A1

    • Razor: Koraat 6/8" Full Hollow

    • Lather: Pasteur|Master Soap Creations - Bloom - Soap

    • Post Shave: Pasteur|Master Soap Creations - Bloom - Aftershave

    • Post Shave: Thayers - Rose - Toner

    • Fragrance: Tom Ford - Black Orchid - Eau de Parfum

    • Talc: Yardley Classic

    Bloom is a dupe of Tom Ford Black Orchid. Terrific soap base and terrific scent. Bloom is not identified as a spring scent per se, but blooming flowers are associated with spring, and the Orchid (though there are many types) normally blooms in early spring.

    **June 11, 2024**

    * **Brush:** Maggard 24mm Synthetic
    * **Razor:** Gillette Tech (Z-4)
    * **Blade:** Bolzano Superinox (German) (3)
    * **Lather:** [Barrister & Mann - Diamond - Soap](https://imgur.com/4UPwu2e)
    * **Post Shave:** Barrister & Mann - Petrichor - Aftershave

    With scent notes of freshly cut grass, stadium soil, beer, leather, pine, cedar, popcorn, and caramel to conjure the unforgettable experience of attending a big league game, (freshly cut grass being listed first), this scent is decidedly on-theme.

    Petrichor aftershave is meant to smell like the dirt of New England. You can’t have baseball, grass, beer, leather, pine, cedar, popcorn, or anything else for that matter – without dirt. So that makes it a related scent.

    April Showers Bring may Flowers

    • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. / Zenith - Boar Brush 31mm × 50mm
    • Razor: Weck - Hair Shaper (green translucent scales)
    • Blade: Kismet - Rostfrei, Polymer beschichtet
    • Lather: Spearhead Shaving Company Seaforth! - Heather
    • Post Shave: Noble Otter- Cerberus Fougère
    • Fragrance: Chatillon Lux - Weinstrasse

    Theme justification: Heather is a floral fougère and used to be one of the example suggestions for this theme (then the opening theme “Spring into Lathergames”.

    This is the first soap I’ve ever used in a Lather Games, and I got a bit nostalgic shaving with it. Djudging Lather Games is fun and all, but sometimes I want to hop back in the ring and compete. Maybe next year? Regardless, great shave with the little Weck and the big brush.

    Relevant post and frag: They’re green, they smell green, and they are fougères like the soap. On a side note, Weinstrasse is the reference scent for a “green” scent for me.

    Challenge: Colour-coordinated spring colours green and earth tones in harmony.

  • Tuesday, June 11, 2024: Zingari Zischtig

    Another Tuesday, another Zingari Zischtig. After some time with Bon Monsieur (which I like very much), I went back to Mousse Illuminée. This is a georgeous scent, but I cannot help but feeling unworthy of using it in the bathroom. It’s just like my mother was standing behind me and scolding me for being underdressed for the circumstances. Anyways, at least I used the TI straight, whose shinicity went very well with the scent of the soap, and provided a welcome contrast to my own person.

    Have a good evening!
