The game has functionality that does not work on the Steam Deck. Valve is completely in the right here. If the developers wanted it to get a rubber stamp from Valve, then they shouldn’t have made part of the game broken on Linux.
Hard disagree. If nothing else it motivates Sony to make it playable on Linux.
There’s good reason to believe there will be more Linux devices from Valve (they are contributing to Nvidia open source drivers), which is good for Linux, and ultimately good for everyone.
Fuck me, this post talks 3 times about how valve is making a mistake and then starts talking about the optional co-op mode and why it’s not supported, and then continues to talk about console numbers and whatnot.
Is this tech/game writing in 2024? Not a single ounce of recognition that valve wants no bullshit on their console, just “oh it’ll be bad for their business, I’m gonna be paternalistic about it and shame them for not making an instant-gratification business decision”
