Edit: you know what? Fuck this place. I’m not gonna argue with a bunch of pedantic assholes all day.

A short rant because I got banned for saying that there’s a lot of anti-blackness in the Asian community. (Basically, I said that a lot of people are heavily influenced by the handful of sensationalized reports of homeless mentally ill black people attacking Asian people. I also said that they weaponized their fear to end AA and increase already ballooning levels of mass incarceration.)

I’m tired of black oppression only being relevant when it can be directly used to argue for a larger caused. I’m tired of pointing out obvious racism only for people to turn around and be like, Nu-uh you’re the real racist! I’m tired of having to pretend that I’m not impacted by any of this only for other people to mock the oppression they also pretend isn’t real most of the time. I’m tired of wondering if being alive is even worth it not because I hate myself but because the world is so irrevocably racist, hypocritical and just nasty in general.

Fuck off, man. Hella people before you-- including Asian folk and Black folk on both sides of the line-- have talked about this without making it sound like inflicting carceral slavery on my community was a solution. I recommend Foreign Man in a Foreign Land and Cheyenne Lin for a two-part back-to-back on the subject; but until then, please fuck off; fuck all the way off, and then keep going when you reach Go again. As of right now, I don’t believe your bonafides, and I don’t respect this tryna make your beef with the mods public.

At least when I did it, it was something I could defend and positively fight, how the fuck you gonna defend “I thought the removal of AA and the increase in mass incarceration would’ve pacified them, but apparently not.”??? Ain’t no kinfolk I’ve ever listened to.

And as to your slick little top-level edit about “pedantic assholes” yeah go on and get fucked. Ion’t claim you, neither as skinfolk, as kinfolk, or even as a comrade if you’re so incapable of self-crit. I’d say ‘do better’, but we both know that’d be a waste of electrons, don’t we?

You made an incredibly racist comment and you got banned. Suck it up and be thankful it wasn’t a siteban

    User’s comment that was removed

A lot of those who claimed to see an increase are probably conflating actual hate crimes with the handful of cases of mentally ill homeless black people randomly targeting Asian people. I thought the removal of AA and the increase in mass incarceration would’ve pacified them, but apparently not.

It’s the literal truth. A lot of Americans in general are heavily influenced by a handful of scandalizing, race-based headlines. They weaponize their fears to further the oppression of marginalized groups. Asian Americans are not exempt from this. That doesn’t mean that hate crimes against Asians don’t exist, just that a racist subgroup is more concerned with perpetuating anti-blackness.

Like how you’re normalizing violence against Asian Americans and stigmatizing the homeless and mentally ill by outright dismissing Asian American concerns while making a bigoted comment in what seems like a tasteless and tone-deaf joke about about the removal of Asian Americans and the American industrial complex would’ve somehow made the hate crimes go away?

Yeah no I’m passing this up the ladder now.

Honestly its disappointing that this happened because its a real thing and pointing this out shouldn’t be something that gets you banned.

Edit: Just organizing my thoughts a bit and adding a bit more to this. But for those that seem to have a hard time understanding where this is coming from. Think about how all of these politicians and media sources are banging on about China. China is spying on you. China is the cause of the COVID pandemic. The Chinese have secret bases in the US, Canada, and Western Europe. China, China, China! This does a lot to increase anti-Asian hate. Yet do we see a lot of the larger Asian advocacy groups pointing out how these people are propagating negative feelings around Chinese and Asian people in general? Not as much as we should. But if a news story along the ones that whatap described comes out then, usually, there would be a statement released by one of these advocacy groups about the need to address anti-Asian hate, which is fine. But also comes up short when, as stated before, it doesn’t really address the larger issue at hand of the American, and in particular white, elite is doing to propagate and-Asian hate.

That’s really disappointing. I’m Asian and it’s absolutely true, we have to deal with the anti-blackness in our community. Pointing it out doesn’t make someone racist
